May Celebrations
Hello Corvallis Family,
We had so much to celebrate last week. It was such a fun week.
Tuesday
PTA elected new leadership!
Wednesday
Family Math Night- We had awesome attendance and learned a few games.
Thursday
We celebrated some of our hard working students.
Angelo in fifth grade won a contest for his art.
The whole school surprised me with some wonderful cards and gifts for principal's day.
Incidentally, it was also Star Wars day.
Friday
Cinco de Mayo
Children's Day in Japan.
Principal Chat
Thank you to all of the parents who came to the Principal Chat this morning. Also thanks to Ms. Ana, Ms. Mandy and Ms. Paulovits for translating. Ms. Vicki and Ms. Sarah helped to make sure there was food and coffee, a vital part of the meeting.
State testing
State testing begins this week for grades 3-5. Please see the Parent Support & Resources section below. We do not believe that a test score describes our students. These assessments are an indicator of what our students know and where we should focus our teaching.
Chat with the principal is a week from today. Come to the Computer Room on Monday, May 8th from 8:45 to 9:45 and talk about volunteer opportunities.

Celebrating Teachers and Staff this week
It's teacher and staff appreciation week this week. The PTA is spoiling us with tons of goodies! It would mean a great deal to the teachers and staff if they received a thank you note from your student. Those words of appreciation mean so much.

Get your child ready to do their best
To help ensure you child is at their best for taking the state assessments:
- Please make sure your child gets enough sleep.
- Your child should eat breakfast, we serve free breakfast from 8:15-8:30 every morning.
- Send your child in with your support "Do your best!"
CAASPP Practice Test
Corvallis students in grades 3-5 will begin state assessments on Tuesday, May 9th. If you would like to help your child practice these assessments you can do so at this site.
