House Olympics
Today is our House Olympics! The kids were super pumped when they walked in today. They looked fantastic in their House colors!! I love it! This afternoon each House will be competing in a variety of events. We will not only be working towards the goal of doing our best, but teamwork, encouragement, and math skills will also be incorporated. We'll keep you posted as to who wins!
Jog-A-Thon
Be on the lookout for the informational packet! It is coming home today. The kids are pumped about it and look forward to seeing how far they will go this year! This is our only fundraiser during the year so your kiddo won't be asked to sell wrapping paper, trash bags, or cookie dough. Every penny raised comes into our school to help fund amazing things for your child. Thank you for all that you do and your support at home!
Mr. Lazz
You may have heard the name Mr. Lazz. He is our Cadet teacher from the high school. He will be joining us each day from 1:45-3:15. He is fantastic, super smart, and a terrific asset to our classroom! We are happy to have him!
Needed
Just a reminder to send in a roll or two of tape for your child to use when creating Interactive notebooks! So many already have one and it has made the process so much quicker. Thank you!
Multiplication Facts
This week, your child was given access to Xtra math, an online program to help improve math fact skills! The website is www.xtramath.com. The login and password should be taped inside of the planner so your child can do this at home or in school. I have also finished the math fact interviews so next week your child will be working on memorizing five multiplication facts at a time. The facts they showed to have mastered will not be sent home. My goal is for each child to know their math facts by Winter Break. I promise, it will make life in math so much easier! Please work on these facts at home. Just a note that two websites are located at the bottom of the newsletter for easy access to math websites.
REMIND 101
Another way for me to keep in touch is the use of remind 101. Many times I will just send a text reminder instead of an email. To sign up for 2016-17 Parents notifications, please visit
If you already have the Remind101 app, you can search for my class or use @cdc79.
Home Folders
Thank you for viewing your child's folder each week and signing in the Saturday column!
