College and Career Fair
The Tustin Unified School District is holding its 2018 College and Career Fair on Monday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tustin High School, 1171 El Camino Real. The 33rd annual event is open to all high school students and their parents from Beckman, Foothill, Hillview, Tustin and Tustin Connect.
TUSD is sponsoring the college and career fair in conjunction with Vital Link, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting public school districts and businesses throughout Orange County.
Over 90 colleges, universities and military academies will have representatives hand out literature and answer questions about their institutions. Students and parents will be able to gather information on campus locations, curriculum, admissions requirements, tuition and living expenses. There will also be workshops on financial aid, higher education options in California and out of state, and NCAA eligibility.
Additionally, community colleges, Coastline Regional Occupational Program (ROP) and career technical education programs will share their programs with Tustin Unified high school students. They will cover a variety of areas, including health professionals, media arts, engineering, hospitality, automotive and machine shop, child services, business industry, public services, fashion design and civil engineering.

What is Challenge Success?
Last year, Beckman High School embarked on a reflective journey to discover where we can help our students deal with the rigors and stresses of their high school experience. We sent a team of administrators, teachers, parents and students to the annual Challenge Success conference at Stanford University. As a result, we have implemented new bell schedules, limited weighted classes, and added various parent education resources. Over the next several years, we will continue to work on addressing the needs of our student through the resources provided the Challenge Success program. If you are interested in what the program is, or what it stands for, please visit: http://www.challengesuccess.org/. Click here to see some additional TUSD resources related to Challenge Success.
Homecoming Week is a Success!
BHS Robotics in Poway
It's that time of year again! We sent three teams to Poway San Diego to compete in the Robot Rodeo. After a long grueling day, our W team ranked 1st, our N team 3rd and our Y team 4th. W and Y ended up winning Tournament Champions, qualifying them for States.
W also earned the Think Award and Skills champion, and are currently 2nd in California in skills. Y also won the Design award. Below are the pictures. (yes, the cover pic is in honor of homecoming)

EdFund Blu180 Winners!
Congratulations to Peter Lombardi and the Lombardi family for winning Ed Fund's BLU180 raffle! They won a pair of Disneyland hopper tickets! And a big THANK YOU as well to all the other families who also donated! With the help of donations from supporters such as you, we will continue to maintain and expand programs and initiatives that enrich the experience of all Beckman students.
Beckman Beat is Live!
Beckman’s journalism program has recently rebranded and is proud to present its new multimedia platform, the Beckman Beat! The journalism class, formerly known as the Beckman Chronicle, has become a joint effort with the Independent Film Class to explore areas of broadcast and multimedia journalism. The Beat is a student-driven online publication highlighting news, features, sports, editorials, and arts pertaining to Beckman students. A staff of over 35 student journalists and independent film creators publish an online edition under the guidance of Mr. Boice, the adviser. Ultimately, the Beat serves as a representation of the diversity on campus and seeks to celebrate the accomplishments of students and faculty. The Beat and its contributors continue to experience growth as a result of an enriching real-world style journalism and film program.
