FROM SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
Thank You Mrs Williams...Welcome Mrs. O'Keefe!
Dear Lisbon Community,
I would like to take this opportunity to share that our outstanding school nurse, Mrs. Leslie Williams, has made the important decision to be the full time Registered Nurse at Mount View Middle School. Although Mrs. Williams has been 100% committed to the Lisbon students, staff, and families throughout her seven years serving our school community, accepting the school nurse position at Mount View Middle School significantly reduces her travel throughout the week and allows her to be full time at one school.
Mrs. Williams expertise, sense of humor, caring nature, and sense of calmness were instrumental as she supported students, consulted with parents, and acted as a resource for teachers during the school day. She was a trusted and dedicated partner to me as we collaborated frequently, often during off-hours and over weekends, in an effort to navigate the ever-changing protocols associated with COVID. Please join me in thanking Mrs. Williams for her dedicated efforts to ensure our students are safe and healthy while at school. We wish her nothing but the best at Mount View.
As we extend our best wishes to Mrs. Williams, please also join me in welcoming Mrs. Joanne O’Keefe as Lisbon's full time school nurse. Mrs. O’Keefe is a Registered Nurse and has been the full time RN at Waterloo Elementary School for the past seven years . She has been a nurse for the past 31 years and begin working in Howard County in 2015. Mrs. O’Keefe and her husband are proud parents of two adult children. She has spent the past two weeks, in collaboration with Mrs. Williams, familiarizing herself with Lisbon and our wonderful students. She is excited to play a part in continuing to keep our community healthy. I am looking forward to partnering with Mrs. O’Keefe moving forward.
Mrs. Williams will transition to Mount View Middle School full time next school year. Currently, Mrs. O’Keefe will operate from a staggered schedule – working alternate days at Waterloo and Lisbon to ensure a smooth transition.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Anoff

NEW INFORMATION
Chromebooks
Chromebook Summer Storage
HCPSS has been fortunate to have a 1:1 device ratio for most of our students. As we come to the end of the 2021-2022 school year, we will implement the following summer 2022 Chromebook storage and use process for specified grade levels.
Grades K-4
- Student Chromebooks will be stored at school over the summer. Each student’s assigned Chromebook will be returned to them for use during the 2022-2023 school year.
- Students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer and take them to their assigned middle school at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
All students participating in a HCPSS Summer Program, including Extended School Year ESY and ESY-RECC special education, may take their Chromebooks with them for the summer so that they can be used during their program. At the conclusion of HCPSS Summer Programs, students will keep their Chromebooks for the remainder of the summer and take them to their assigned school at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
Students not returning to HCPSS should return their Chromebook to their home school on or before the last day of school for students. Please look for additional information from your child’s homeroom teacher regarding end-of-year procedures for Chromebooks.

ISO Volunteer Families for Our New Lisbon Liaisons Program
Do you and your family:
· Like to attend our LES Events?
· Enjoy meeting and connecting with new people?
· Want to be a helpful point of contact for another family?
· Care about fostering a sense of community among the families of Lisbon Elementary?
If so, please consider joining our Lisbon Liaison Program. This program was developed to ensure that all families at Lisbon feel welcome in our community and to encourage engagement with our community. The focus of this program is to provide support for two primary populations:
· Families who have recently moved to this area and have a child(ren) in attendance at Lisbon Elementary School
· Families in which the adult caretakers are not comfortably conversant in English and have a child(ren) in attendance at Lisbon Elementary School
Liaison families serve as points of contact and familiar faces at school events, and for the day-to-day questions that may arise as these families move through Lisbon Elementary. The goal of the program is to ensure that all families understand that they are valuable members of our community, and to close any gaps that may exist in a family’s ability to access the resources and opportunities provided by the Lisbon Elementary School community. If you are interested in becoming a Liaison family, please contact either Liz Banach at lizbanach@gmail.com or Ellen Bockelman at meabbock@gmail.com.
