Our Motto: Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
Theme for the Year - Beauty
From the Principal
It is so hard to believe the first quarter of the school year has come and gone! I have had the pleasure of getting to know you and your children better, and have thoroughly enjoyed visiting their classrooms and witnessing all they are learning.
We continue to get closer and closer to our biggest fundraiser of the year: A Knight to Remember 2017, with the theme - A Knight at the Royal Table. So much thought and effort goes into organizing an event like this. I hope you are all able to come and share the evening with your fellow Knights. Be sure to purchase your tickets sooner, rather than later, to ensure we have enough food and refreshments on hand for the evening.
Be sure to stop by the Art Room during Parent/Teacher Conferences tomorrow to preview many of the auction items you will find at A Knight to Remember, including the class art projects. They are all truly BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you to all the families selling raffle tickets! The students are really looking forward to the drawing each Monday morning. Be sure to check out the new incentive to sell tickets in the Reminders for the week below.
Please take a few minutes to complete the two Strategic Plan Surveys found on ParentsWeb. The District Code for the school is SJC-TX if you are in need of this. They will be open till midnight Friday, October 27th.
We will use your input during this year's process of updating the plan for the school. This plan will help drive us forward for the next five years. Thank you so very much for your participation. Don't forget, your child/children may wear Halloween accessories to school on the 31st (along with their school uniform) for completing the surveys.
In Christ's Service,
Diane Price
Quotes to Ponder
Everything that is done out of Love acquires greatness and beauty.
- St. Josemaria Escriva
Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.
- St. Augustine of Hippo
At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples by bringing others to Christ, through the recognition of what is beautiful around us each and every day, and reflecting that beauty in our actions.

- Don't forget to buy your tickets to our 17th Annual "A Knight to Remember" event. See the details below. Hope to see you there!
- As a thank you for parent participation in the two Strategic Plan Surveys, students may wear Halloween accessories with their school uniform on October 31st.
- These two multiple-choice surveys are found on ParentsWeb and will be open till midnight, October 27th. Accessories include fun socks, hats, animal ears, costume jewelry, and the like. Please, no masks and nothing that can be held in the hand like a wand, toy gun, lightsaber, etc.
- There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 27th due to Parent Conferences.
car line observations
- Please be patient with friends and extended family members who drop off and pick up students. Many times they have not been informed of the proper way to navigate the car line. We do reach out to families after arrival and dismissal who seem to not understand the car line pattern.
- If you have a friend or extended family member picking up your child, please take a minute to explain the procedures to them. Please reference the diagram. Thank you!
- We would ask that a cell phone not be in your hand while driving in the car line. We all know it only takes one sudden distraction to alter lives forever.
Our home and school association presents the 17th Annual "A Knight to Remember"
Home and School Association (HSA)
- There will be no HSA Meeting in November.
- Sell those raffle tickets and be sure to purchase your AK2R tickets as soon as you can. Thank you for all you do for this school!
- Box Tops are always being collected for the school. Don't forget to clip them and bring them into the front office to help raise money for the school.
- It's never too late to join the HSA! Come by the school office to pick up a form. The cost is $15.00.
A Note from My School Picture photography
In the fall, we offer a retake program due to the school yearbook. The retake day is scheduled for November 8th. If you decide to buy photos and do not like them, you are welcome to a retake. We ask that you return the original picture package on retake day. On retake day, another image of your child is taken. A picture package, with your child's retake image will arrive at the school at no charge.
In the spring, we offer a proof program for parents to view their child's picture online. Also, parents are welcome to return fall pictures and have a retake in the spring as well.
