Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,
Children from Goshen Center School, James Morris School, and Warren School gathered together at JMS last Friday for a day of culture and collaboration. Thanks to the generosity of the Parent Teacher Organizations at all three schools, students and staff were treated to an African Drumming program, led by master drummer, dancer, and choreographer Aly Tatchol Camara. Volunteers were able to dress in African garb, play the drums, and dance along to the African beat.
Afterward, each grade level had the opportunity to meet each other, and to participate in an activity prepared by their teachers from all three schools. Students also enjoyed lunch and recess together. Everyone appreciated this opportunity to interact with friends from the other schools. Thank you to Mr. KC Chapman and the JMS staff for hosting our first Cultural Collaboration. Stay tuned for similar events that we are planning for the future!
