Career Day Speakers Needed
Vandeventer Middle School’s sixth annual Career Day is right around the corner on Friday, November 16th. We are looking for 50 to 60 speakers to share with our students about their chosen career field.
This event is such a special day and the students look forward to it every year. If we are able to get 50 to 60 speakers, there will be 20 to 22 students in each of the 3 sessions that the speakers have. After the 3 sessions, we’d like to treat all of our speakers to lunch. Please consider sharing your career with our students. We promise you will be glad you did!
Information for career day speakers on what we would like for you to share with the students during the three sessions can be found here. Please click here for the itinerary for the morning and to sign up to present.

Welcome to Vandeventer!
Hello, my name is Deanna Martin
My name is Deanna Martin and I will be joining the Special Education Support Team. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I received my Bachelor of Accountancy and BBA Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma, Go Sooners! I've been married to my husband, BJ, for 21 years. We have twin boys, Jake and Luke, who are in 8th grade. We love traveling and sports, especially college football. I previously worked in special education in MISD and I am so excited to be joining Vandeventer this year!
Hello, my name Robin Kennedy
I am thrilled to be teaching Multimedia/Broadcast at Vandeventer, not only because I love working with middle school age students, but also because my entire life has been surrounded by acting, television and radio. Growing up in Los Angeles with a Television Director Dad, and a Package Designer Mom, my young years were aligned to become an actress in television commercials and stage acting.
After earning my Theater degree at the University of London, I broke into television acting...Years later I earned my Teaching degree at Whitworth College in Washington State, which led to many years of teaching elementary school and Theater to both middle and high school students. With motherhood came a break where I got into having an iHeart Talk Show, as well as becoming an iHeart Radio commercial Voiceover Talent.
Sharing my years of "field experience" in Television & Radio with the amazingly talented students at Vandeventer has been a most exciting adventure I am most grateful to have!
consider this :
Positively impacting & advancing each student every day.
