Back To School Nights

Thank you for attending Warwick Back To School Nights. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with each of our parent groups talking about GRIT and Growth mindset, and sharing thinking around motivational theory. You might say I had found "My Flow!" As a school community, we are engaging our students in tremendously important "ways of thinking" and I want to thank you for your continued support.

Have you found your flow? Has your child?

Remember, Pink says it's a combination of Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose which helps us to acheive a Flow State. Our goal is to help students recognize what their Flow State(s) is/are, and then try to help them replicate that feeling in other academic areas.

Below are the two articles I had available during Back To School Nights, as well as a link to the Brian Williams video clip I shared at Back To School Nights.

Enjoy! And thank you again for attending our Back To School Nights this year.

Happy Birthday Students!!

Each month Mr. Watters delivers Happy Birthday pencils and happy birthday nametags (which can be stickers or book marks). In September, when delivering August and September birthdays, there were so many that both sides of his suit jacket were filled with pencils for the students. Seeing their eyes and smiles was priceless when pulled to the side for their choosing!

Boomerang Youth Recognition Award

Each month, CB Cares sponsors the Boomerang Youth Recognition Award.

This youth recognition award was created to recognize students in the Central Bucks School District for living by one of the 40 Assets, designated monthly. The 40 Developmental Assets are positive experiences, behaviors, and personal qualities that all youth need to possess, in order to be responsible, caring, and strong in the face of peer pressures and other life challenges. Each year, over 1,000 elementary, middle, and high school students are nominated and recognized for their assets.

Nominations for the September Boomerang Award are due this Friday, September 20th! The below nomination form may be used, OR nominations can be submitted in traditional written or emailed form.

Students can make a self-nomination, or nominate a friend, neighbor or sibling. The only requirement is that the nominee be a Warwick student. Parents and other family members (aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.) are encouraged to make nominations as well.

Thank you for supporting CB Cares and The Boomerang Awards.
