Running is Elementary Race Day

On Tuesday May 11th, our 4th and 5th grade students participated in the mile long race! We were so excited to have our families come and cheer on the runners as they raced along the course. The students cheered each other on, and encouraged each other to do their best. We would like to thank Mrs. Hatch for heading the program this year, and also extend gratitude to all of the other Northpoint staff volunteers who helped coach our participants over these past few weeks in preparation for the race. Congratulations to all of our runners for your effort and achievements. Below are the results of the first place blue ribbon winners;

Message from PTO

Hello 5th grade Parents,

We’re putting together a slideshow for 5th grade graduation and are hoping to include many fun memories of the children from over the years. Can you please send us 2-3 of your favorite pictures by Sunday, May 16th? We would like only photos of current 5th grade NP students. Small groups are ideal with no more than 3-4 kids per picture. Please add the photos to the Google folder at If your student is new to Northpoint, please feel free to send us a baby/toddler picture and/or a current picture of your child that you would like to share. Please contact us with any questions.

Thank you!

E-Learning Chromebook Loaner Return

If you signed up to use a chromebook for E-Learning, please return it to the front office. We need to check these back in as soon as possible. Be sure to remove any stickers your child might have added, and also return the charger as well. Thank you for your cooperation.

Virtual Student Material Return

The date for virtual students to return materials is June 3rd from 8:00-3:00. Please start rounding up all of the textbooks, materials, chromebooks and chargers that your child has been using for virtual learning this year. More information will be sent out next week giving specific details for the return.

Moving Schools?

If your child will not be attending Northpoint for the 2021-2022 school year, please contact the office as soon as possible. This will help us have accurate numbers in our next year's school count. Thank you for your assistance with this notification.

Multicultural Studies

Celebrating our rich diversity and valuing different cultures is an important and special part of our school's mission. We encourage students to embrace and share about their culture all year long, but even more so, during our units of study in May. Every year, students in Kdg-5th grade learn about aspects of the cultures of the countries spanning 6 continents.

Check out our hallways, and ask your child what things they learned about their continent so far. We have enjoyed hearing and learning about the cultres of our own Northpoint Stars during this study.

Field Day

This year's field day will be organized by our teachers. Our incredible PTO is helping with a few donations to make the day possible. Each class will remain in their pods like we have done for recess. We will have NO parent volunteers this year. We grateful that our PTO is purchasing field day t-shirts for all of the students and staff. Virtual students will not participate in person, but will get a t-shirt to wear at home. Virtual teachers will plan activitiies centered around field day for them to engage in at home. We hope this is the one and only year we ever have to have a COVID style field day.

If you would like to help donate some items teachers will need for the field day stations please go to the wishlist link below on amazon, and the items will ship directly to the school. Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents of car riders,

Due to an increased amount of car riders this year, we need to change our car pool procedures to provide a safer environment for our staff and students. We would appreciate your patience and cooperation as we implement the following new procedures;

1. Once you have entered the curb line up, please wait until you have been ushered forward to begin exiting the car pool line.

2. DO NOT pass around cars at any time while you are in the car pool line.

3. Cars will be stopped at the entrance to the the curb line to allow for all students to enter vehicles and exit safely.

4. Your child will be directed to walk safely to their vehicle that should be stopped along the curb.

5. If you are stopped at the entrance to the car pool line, you will be the lead car that should pull all the way up to the first cone . DO NOT STOP WHERE YOUR CHILD MIGHT BE STANDING.

7. Watch for the traffic ushers who will be wearing orange vests to direct you when in the curb lane.

We understand that waiting in a long line is frustrating, but we have to think of the safety of our students and staff members. We appreciate your support with these new procedures. Please call Mrs. White at 574-271-8598 or email her at if you have any questions.

Attendance is critical to your child's academic success, and there is no substitute for instruction delivered by the classroom teacher. If you are planning a vacation outside the window of any scheduled school breaks, please contact Mrs. White. Absences that have not been approved will be considered as unexcused absences. If your child has an excessive number of unexcused absences, we are obligated to report these to the CASIE Center or St. Joseph County as per Indiana Code 20-33-25. Thank you for your cooperation.
