SOCIAL STUDIES VOCABULARY

The attached vocabulary was given to students last Friday. Students should have these terms glued into their Social Studies notebooks. These terms will be on the first Social Studies quiz, which will be given on Friday, 8/17.

SOCIAL STUDIES STUDY GUIDE

The attached study guide will be a great tool for students when preparing for any of the upcoming Social Studies quizzes or tests.

IB UNIT: WHERE WE ARE IN PLACE AND TIME

The central idea for this unit is, "Discovery and migration lead to new understanding."


We will explore three main questions...

1) What are the connections between location and migration?

2) How are the different forms of energy utilized?

3) how do new technologies impact life?


The learner profile traits we will be focusing on are communicator and risk-taker.

Students' grades are posted on Infinite Campus on a weekly basis. If you do not have access yet, please contact Mrs. Moyer in the front office so she can help you create an account.

APS STUDENT HANDBOOK FORM

This upcoming week your child will receive an APS Calendar along with a Student Handbook. Please sign and return the handbook form by the end of this week.

CLASS DOJO

Throughout the school year Ms. France and I will post pictures on CLASS DOJO so that you can see what's going on in the classroom. We will also use this app to communicate with you about your child's behavior. Feel free to contact us through the app with any questions or comments you may have. If you're not connected to CLASS DOJO simply contact your child's homeroom teacher to receive a class code.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM

Over the next couple of weeks students will begin using Google Classroom both at school and at home. Assignments, videos, study guides, and more will be posted on Google Classroom. Teachers, students, and parents will all have access. More information to come.

JACKSON MORNING NEWS

Any 5th grade student who is interested in participating in the morning show will need to fill out an online application by Friday, Aug. 10th. The application should take 10-15 minutes to complete. Share the link below with your student if he or she is interested. Thank you!
