Quick notes from Mr. Berryman
Dear Families:
Our after-school Achievement Center will continue for the rest of the year. We are providing some extra time and practice for students who may need it, according to their teachers.
The program is now full for February. We will send out notices later this month to identify students who would benefit from the program in March and April.
The best way to stay on top of what's going on in your child's classroom is through his/her Seesaw page. Make sure you have a Seesaw account and access it frequently to see some of the great things happening in our classrooms. Contact your child's teacher for more information.
A students' regular attendance is one of the number one ways he or she can be more successful in school. Obviously, if your child has a fever or is vomiting, call us and keep them home. However, send your child to school with an ear ache, stomach ache, or something like that. If the symptoms get worse, we'll call you to come pick them up.
Thank you for everything you do to help your children be successful at school!

The World According to Humphrey
At the end of the book, we try to hold a short celebration assembly that connect with the book somehow. This year, we were fortunate to get a science teacher from Lutheran High and a number of his students to come and show REAL classroom pets to all of our students. The kids had a terrific time learning about these animals and even got to hold/touch them if they wished.

In September, we kicked off the program with fun assembly and asked the kids to bring home and envelope full of information and to send emails to family, friends, and co-workers that explained the program. Students got a prize for just sending those emails out!
Now, these friends and families are purchasing items from SchoolStore.com. Grant School has earned over $600 of profit during this school year! In addition, teachers have received gift cards worth a total of $3,500 to be used at the school store. Thank you so much for your purchases and donations so far.
You can also watch a short video about the program, go to http://schoolstore.com/video. Click on the banner that says, "Huggers Only." This is the same video that the students watched in September.
