Tropical Storm Fred Forms in the Far Eastern Atlantic Ocean
What is the danger?
Tropical Storm Fred, the sixth named storm of the 2015 Hurricane Season, has formed about 200 miles east of the Cape Verde Islands. This places Fred more than 4,600 miles away from the Houston area.
What you need to do:
Any tropical system can be a potential threat to the Texas coast - especially now that we are almost at the peak of hurricane season. Make sure your emergency kit and disaster plans are up to date. Make sure everyone in your family knows what to do in the event you have to evacuate or shelter in place due to tropical weather.
