Cornona Virus Awareness
Assalamu alaiykum,
As COVID-19 or the Corona virus disease continues to spread, Aqsa School would like to remind our students, staff and parents, that with all viruses, prevention is key.
The virus is thought mainly to spread from person-to-person, between people who are in close contact within 6 feet of one another. It may also be possible for a person to get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. However, as a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
Washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
Staying home when you are sick to contain the illness.
Covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
May Allah protect us all from disease and illness and help those who are suffering from any health issues. Ameen.

A little about Ilham Mansi's story.
"Ilham is a fifteen year old girl from Ramallah who suffers from a lower limb condition known as Valgrus deformity. The deformity was a result of an accident that occurred in 2013. She had eight surgeries between 2009 -2015. Upon evaluation by the PCRF orthopedic medical mission doctors, it was recommended that she receive treatment abroad. The PCRF arranged for Ilham to travel to Chicago to begin her treatment and care at Shriners Hospital for Children." - PCRF
PCRF gifts Aqsa a plaque of Appreciation at their Fundraising dinner.
Aqsa School was given the honor to host Ilham this year as a student as she completed her surgeries here in Chicago.
