The Arenal Volcano is located on the continent of North America.

The Caribbean and Coco plates are causing the Arenal volcano to form.

The convergent boundary is the type of boundary creating the volcano.

The Cocos plate is going under the Caribbean plate and creating subduction.

Effects of the Volcano

San Jose is 90km away from the Arenal Volcano. San Jose's population is 288,054 people.

There is a park by the volcano so there are a lot of tourists.

The time period when the Arenal Volcano was most active was from 1968 to 2010.

The Arenal Volcano last erupted in 2010 since then it has been dormant.

When the volcano erupts the lava overflows the rim and flows down the mountain continuously.
