Academic Super Bowl
The Academic Super Bowl team is open to all students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and is a team competition in the fields of mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies. Students will begin working with their teams to learn and to practice about topics in their field tied to this year’s theme, “1980’s and 1990’s: The End of the Millennium”. Students can choose to participate with up to two different teams if they are interested. We will begin to set up our practice schedule after our meeting on November 30th, so the coaches can see what night works best for their team. Competitions will not be until late March and the last Saturday in April, so students will have plenty of time to prepare to defend our honor as defending champions at the MSNE8 Conference Competition and as State Champions for Science.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the coaches: Nichole Gilg (science), Matt Groves (math), Peter Kitchen (social studies), or Ryne Wemhoff (language arts).
Art Show
The Semester 1 Art Show will be on Thursday, November 14th from 5 - 8:30 pm. Artwork will be displayed in the showcases and hallway during the Band & Choir concerts.
Recess
Please have your students dress appropriately for the weather. As long as temperatures are above 40 degrees we will be taking students outside for recess.
Transportation Changes
If you have a change of plans for where you student is going after school, please call the office before 2:00 pm to make sure we have time to get the information to your student before the 2:35 pm dismissal.
