A Note from the Principal

Dear families,

Thank you so much to everyone who joined our NORSE Award Assembly on Wednesday. This was our first time including families at a NORSE Assembly, and students loved having special adults in the audience!

A HUGE shout-out to our 4th/5th grade student leaders, who worked hard to set up the cafeteria for the assembly and worked as greeters for our visiting guests.

⛄️Winter is HERE! Thank you for sending winter gear with students this week. It made for some fun recess time! We are always taking donations of outgrown coats and snowpants that are still in good condition.

🚙Reminder that our back car line lot has a slight incline and can be very icy! Remember to take it slow now that ice has arrived.

As usual, if you need anything at all, please feel free to call, text, or email: (231) 534-4439 or fehrenbachs@suttonsbayschools.com.

NORSE Nods!

Lots more NORSE Nods came home this week! These very cool collectors' awards are a chance for students or staff to honor a student who showed great NORSE qualities: being nice, organized, responsible, safe, and engaged.

A NORSE Nod comes home with a collectors' backpack pin; collect all 5 to spell N-O-R-S-E!

November can be a difficult month for illness in school. Families are reporting stomach bugs, headaches, coughs, RSV, COVID-19, and fevers. Please help us by keeping your students home when they aren't feeling well. We know that coughs and congestion can linger, but students should be free of fever and vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school.

Note: Students who are reporting sore throats are often ending up testing positive for COVID. Keep an eye on symptoms and let us know if your family needs an at-home COVID test! We will always send an email notification to your family if a student in your child's class is at school and then tests positive for COVID-19.

Invitation: Winter Concerts

Join us for our Winter Concert! Because there is limited space in the Auditorium, we ask that you try and attend just one of the performances so that as many families as possible can attend. Any parents, grandparents, family members, or friends that can attend the afternoon concert are encouraged to do so as there will likely be more space available.

December 15th Day 2pm & Evening 7pm Performance

At Suttons Bay Auditorium

$5 Suggested Donation at the Door

We look forward to seeing you at the show!

PTO Updates

PTO Officers: Can you help?

Take a look at the officer positions for our PTO and submit your name if you're willing to volunteer for a position!

We had a great November meeting and collected some officer nominations! We will vote on officers at the December 13 meeting.

PTO is excited to be planning a Family Dance Night in February and a Carnival at the end of the year, along with several smaller events throughout the year.

Many committee meetings happen virtually, and these groups would love to have your help!

Box Tops: Help the PTO!

Can you help? SB PTO receives checks from Box Tops each quarter. Your grocery receipts help earn money! You can scan lots of receipts each month, and lots of products earn money for our school!

Tap the photo above and sign up (or visit this link), and the school earns 40 bonus tops every time!

SB Village Letters to Santa

Every year the Chamber of Commerce coordinates a mailbox for letters to Santa. The mailbox is located outside Bahle's department store and every elementary student received a letter-writing kit today! This is a completely optional activity for families to complete at home.
