ARSA Calendar for Upcoming Events!
Each week administrators and instructional coaches will highlight the growth in the instructional practices, creativity, purposeful and meaningful practices that promote student success. It is important that we recognize ALL the Excellence in Teaching we have in all of areas of our academic programs. The highlights are on a rotation throughout the year and each content/department will be the focus for the week.
Sgt. Salter ~ LCC
Sgt. Salter has created an environment in which students are encouraged to put their best foot forward and focus on improvement to reach excellence. Excellence and pride in one's work/product is the message and expectation to all scholars.
Coach Cofer & Coach Garcia
Transitions are tight, routines are clear making the most of practice time. Scholars are never allowed to disengage and always encouraged to adjust their practice and improve.
At the end of class students are given an artifact (question mark, eyeball, heart, brain) and asked to discuss in groups a certain aspect of what they learned.
- Send text and picture to Ms. Taylor via email. (pictures that are texted will not be included, only emailed pictures)
- Subject line must include Spotlight.
- Due by every Friday, 5pm.
Spotlight on Ms. Walker
Way to go to Ms. Walker to incorporating Focus 3, ARSA Leadership focus on becoming ELITE leaders! 8th grade team engaged in identify above the line and below the line behaviors. Excellent way to build ownership and shared understanding.
Spotlight on Mrs. Crabtree, Mrs. Hawkins, Ms. Lewis, & Ms. Cardenas
Major thank you's to Ms. Cardenas for securing our potato donation from Fiesta Supermarket for our Exemplar PD. Thank you Crabtree, Lewis, Hawkins, and Cardenas for serving the staff and making sure we started our PD on time. Teamwork makes the dream Work!!
Spotlight on Ms. Williams
Ms. Williams brought her choir students to the library to sing for me this week. What a nice surprise and such beautiful singing voices these young ladies have. I was so touched! We have great talent here at ARSA.
Spotlight on Mr. Kattan
A HUGE shout-out to Kattan for being the rock of our three-person team in 7th grade science (which I guess makes me and Anderson paper and scissors, ha!). He is dependable and insightful and has the steadiest and most calming disposition. Literally and figuratively his door is always open, and I look up to his consummate professionalism. Thanks, K-dawg, for being a rockin' Ranger and a fabulous teaching partner!
I would like to give a huge thank you to Ms. Hudson for holding the 8th Grade ELAR team together in my absence and for being a constant support during my bereavement time. She helped with my lesson plans and with getting materials to my subs and students when she was busy with her own. We all know there is never enough time in the day, especially in the beginning of the school year, but she graciously helped me and texted me her support on a daily basis. I was worried about leaving my students for so long but I was rest assured that she would handle it for me and that I was not to worry. She even made sure my students had materials for my SLO.
Thank you so much Ms. Hudson. You are an amazing colleague and Friend!
Spotlight on Mr. Getz
I would like to shine the spotlight on Mr. Getz, for his wit and personality. I have never seen him in a bad mood and he has always been very helpful to me. Thank you Mr. Getz!
Spotlight on Ms. Santos
I would like to shine the spotlight on Ms. Santos, for always being a positive person and helping me with whatever I may need, whether it be supplies, a band aid, or snacks when I get a little hungry in between periods. I'm so glad to have her across the hall from me!
Spotlight on Ms. Craig
I would like to shine the spotlight on Ms. Craig, for always smiling and being in a positive mood every time I see her. It is always a joy to see or be around anyone with an infectious smile and personality.
Spotlight on Mr. Zolman & Ms. Wilson
I would like to nominate Denise Wilson and Tommy Zolman for their hard work. Every time I go in to help with a student they are changing diapers, feeding students and speaking with such kindness to the class. They have a genuine love for these kids.
