Support and Solutions - Issue 14
Wrapping the Year!
As always, we will use this platform to provide you with resources, things to know, tools to use, and ideas to explore. The materials are curated by our department: If we share them, it's because we have looked at them and deem them worthy of your limited time! So check it out. Click on the things that you think will help you and skip the things that won't. And remember, we are here if you need us!

Coming This Summer... Sign up now!
1. Project Based Learning -- engagement, deep thinking, questioning techniques, all in one fell swoop! PBL is appropriate for learners of any age, and it does NOT take up teaching time... it makes the learning stick. Join us for four days and walk away with something you can implement in the fall!
2. The Skill and the Will to Read -- Our annual summer conference is back, and the focus here is on reading. We mean really on reading. We mean, if you teach or support the learning of reading, you should be coming to at least Day 1. If your students read, you should be coming to at least Day 2. Ideally? Come to both... you won't regret it!
3. Teaching with a Mathematical Mind -- Ohhh... this is a must-see for those who teach K-5 mathematics! Presenter Graham Fletcher walks us through the math progressions in a way that helps guide our understanding and instruction. And it's virtual, so you can invite your friends from Virginia or Illinois to participate. Everyone is welcome!

WRAPPING IT UP WITH A SMILE!
Droning on... in a good way!
The PLCs that are sponsored by the Mid-State Teacher Center are a great place for teachers to ask questions of colleagues, hone professional skills both in teaching and in a particular field. They are facilitated BY teachers, FOR teachers (and we help when you want us!). Interested in joining an existing group? Check out our list of active PLCs. Want one that we aren't offering? Contact Teacher Center Director Maria Smith to learn how to become a facilitator!
