Tiger Times
NEWS AND INFO FOR SLATER STAFF 12.16
We're almost there!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Barnes & Noble fundraiser! Even though this is a busy time of year, there were so many tigers there to support Slater. Thank you! With awards, the PBL Showcase, and holiday events, this will be a very busy week at Slater, but we can do this! Stay strong!

Our DOJO Revamp and Alignment Workshop on Tuesday, went great. Thank you for your participation. Be sure to update your ClassDojo Skills before the break so we are ready to rock and roll on 1/7/2020. Remember, we should all have 5 skills (3 schoolwide + 1 class custom + 1 grade level custom) weighted at 1 point. The same 5 skill should be reflected in “Needs Work” and weighted at 0 points. Flood your class story as we head to break!

Culture Reminders
- Be sure to actively monitor recess time. We are striving for incident free December! Also, remember that the punitive withholding of recess must be approved in advance by administration. It should NOT be in your repertoire of classroom level interventions.
- Our first ID Badge audit yielded an approximate 82% compliance rate. This is an area that must be at 100% for safety and security. If you do not have a badge be sure to replace it ASAP. It’s mandatory that ID Badges be worn and must be visible every second that you are at work. ·
- Good job with this week’s lockdown drill. Shout out to Ms. Jacobs for expeditiously corralling 4th grade students into their classrooms during the lockdown drill.
- Please review and stay abreast of all lockdown procedures and expectations. There is a tentative inclement weather drill slated for next week.

TO DO LIST
No lesson plans are due Monday!
FRIDAY IS THE END OF THE SEMESTER. Be sure to post grades weekly to ensure Infinite Campus grades for each student reflects current progress. Please follow the protocol for students who are in danger of failing the 1st semester. Be sure to maintain all documentation.
In order to maximize our instructional time, please refrain from extended recess time and extended restroom breaks.
Our 2nd PBL showcase will be held on Wednesday, December 18th and we really want to demonstrate how much our students have learned through the various projects and tasks they have experienced. Let’s end the 2019 year with a PBL Showcase bang! Our parents, students, and PBSA staff will be visiting Slater to witness all the great teaching and learning happening through PBL!!!
