· Review of the LOST and FOUND plan for display and donations:
- On or near the 25th of each month, items will be displayed in the K5 hallway for students to look for lost items. (three or four days)
- A notice will be posted on the electronic sign alerting parents to the display and chance to claim lost items.
- After the time for reclaiming items has passed, items will be donated to a local charity.
· Decorate the lobby outside the cafeteria. The committee worked during March’s meeting to refresh the area with Spring decorations, which will remain for the rest of the year.
2. New Business-
· The Litter Bug Busters and the Recycling Team will be treated to a field trip on May 25 to see a movie, have lunch and go bowling to show the school’s gratitude for the hard work put in to keep recycling going and to keep our campus cleaner. There will be NO CHARGE to these students.
· The Brenda Keeling Award will be given this year to Kennedy and Lawson Baucom for their dedication to recycling this year. The two have led the process and have kept the items rolling on out to the outside bins.
· Teachers are encouraged to clean out files for recycling prior to May 30th so that the recycling team gets the majority of materials thrown away at the end of the year.

Winthrop Conference
Dear Colleagues,

Please forward to others in your department not included on this email as well as TEACHER CANDIDATES in your program. Registration is available at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/8th-annual-partnership-conference-for-education-renewal-tickets-33535627966
8th Annual Partnership Conference for Education Renewal Each year Winthrop University-School Partnership Network faculty, teachers, administrators, and teacher candidates gather to share their expertise and best practice at the Partnership Conference for Educational Renewal. With the wealth of knowledge that exists in our "own backyard," the conference offers a time to disseminate successful strategies, discuss challenging contexts, and engage in collaborative problem solving. Growing from less than a hundred participants at the first conference to close to three hundred last year, this event highlights our shared commitment to student learning and professional growth. Main conference occurs on Tuesday, June 6 with pre-conference workshops on Monday, June 5.
.
Upon completing your registration, you will be redirected to “SCHED,” our conference website. You will also receive two emails, a confirmation from Eventbrite with your tickets to the event (no need to keep) as well as an email from SCHED, allowing you to visit the site at a future date. If you do not already have an account with SCHED, it will provide you with a username and instruct you to create a password. However, if you do have a preexisting account, the site will simply direct you to log in.
SCHED allows you to view the conference schedule, reserve your place in sessions, receive email updates, and access handouts/presentations (available by June 3rd). You also have the option to complete a profile and connect with other conference attendees. If you would like to know more about building your schedule and connecting with others, use this short video guide -https://8thannualpartnershipconfere2017.sched.com/help
8th Annual Partnership Conference for Education Renewal Schedule 8thannualpartnershipconfere2017.sched.com Check out the schedule for 8th Annual Partnership Conference for Education Renewal
. Registration ends MAY 26 and is limited by room capacity in concurrent sessions.
Tickets are not needed at check-in; however, it is essential that all participants register and continue to the SCHED site to “build your schedule,” since this will be used to provide presenters with information required to prepare handouts, materials, etc.
Looking forward to seeing you in June!

Science Summer PD
Science Grades K-5
This summer, elementary teachers will look at the vertical alignment of science standards, science benchmark data, and teachers of grades 3-5 will learn how to make better use of the Discovery Education/Canvas integration. Teachers of grades K-2 will learn how to use Pearson Realize resources. We will meet June 26 and 27 from 8:30-3:30pm at Rawlinson Road Middle School. (These dates are a change from the dates listed in the PD offerings sent a few weeks ago, so as to avoid conflicting with dates for other PD.) Please sign up in My Learning Plan.
Science Grades 6-8
The focus of this summer's work will be to define and differentiate our Grade-Level and Advanced MS Science coursework. We will begin looking at this on May 4, 2017 during our MS Unit Planning session at Sullivan MS. We will continue this work on June 12 and 13 from 8:30-3:30pm at Rawlinson Road Middle School. A group of teachers representing each grade-level is imperative to make our work useful for everyone involved. Please sign up in My Learning Plan.
High School Science
The focus of this summer's work will be to define and differentiate the College Preparatory and Honors coursework for our high school students. We plan to work June 19 and 20 from 8:30-3:30pm at Rawlinson Road Middle School. Teachers representing each course are needed in order for this work to be feasible for each course. Please sign up in My Learning Plan.
