A MESSAGE FROM MRS. MOLITOR
The story for this month is:
Last Day Blues by Julie Danneberg
What do teachers do for summer vacation? Mrs. Hartwell's students worry that their teacher will miss them while they are gone for the summer. The class comes up with a way to make sure Mrs. Hartwell won't be too sad. But Mrs. Hartwell and the other teachers have some plans of their own.
Once again Julie Danneberg and Judy Love bring to life the crazy antics of Mrs. Hartwell and her class and show that teachers and students are more alike than we sometimes think.
I hope you enjoy it, and always remember to :
Be Safe
Be Responsible
Be Respectful
Have a WONDERFUL summer break! We'll see you in the fall!
Jennifer Molitor
Glendale Elementary School Principal
C.A.R.E.S
Students at Glendale will be recognized for showing the CARES skills through out the school year. Adults can recognize students who are doing an excellent job demonstrating: Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy or Self control. Students who are recognized will be honored with a certificate, have their names announced at an All School Meeting, will be showcased in the Glendale monthly newsletter and will get to enjoy a cinnamon roll breakfast with Mrs. Molitor & the other recipients during morning meeting.
Congratulations to all of the students that received this award for May! The last C.A.R.E.S. breakfast of the year will be Friday, June 4th.
EARLY RELEASE- LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! Thursday, June 10th

2020-21 GLENDALE STAKEHOLDER SURVEY RESULTS
We wanted to share with you the results of our fifth annual stakeholder surveys that were administered April 28 - May 4. The staff, parent and student survey responses are important as they help to identify strengths and set goals for areas in need of improvement at both the district and individual school levels.
Please know how we appreciate those who took the time to take our survey. We value your input as an important part of the improvement process. #WeArePLSASVoices
NOTES FROM THE MEDIA
GLENDALE GOODBYES
Each year the ending of the school year brings staff transitions as enrollment needs change within our district.
We want to thank our staff members who were at Glendale for this school year. We appreciate all of their dedication to students at Glendale. We wish them the best next year and are so thankful we were able to work with these great educators.
There are a few changes coming for the 2021-22 school year:
*Chris Jerke, 3rd grade teacher, will be taking a leave of absence to spend more time with her family. We look forward to welcoming her back in 2022-23.
*Cheryl Holst, 4th grade teacher, will be retiring after 12 years of teaching with PLSAS. Cheryl looks forward to traveling with her husband, relaxing at the cabin and spending time with family and friends. She also plans to continue working towards her goal of completing the Ice Age Trail Hike from St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to Door County, Wisconsin.
*Amanda Mitchell, 1st grade teacher, is taking a new job in the Northfield School District after being at Glendale for the last 7 years. She'll also be getting married this coming fall- Congratulations to her & her future husband, Seth!!
And last but certainly not least, our EL Teacher, Kelley Gerdes, is retiring from Glendale after 31 years in the district!! She first taught Kindergarten at Five Hawks, Hidden Oaks and Ponds Edge. Then when Glendale opened, made a grade level change and taught 3rd grade. She has taught ESL for the past 16 years. Kelley plans on spending more time with her family, especially her Mom and granddaughter! She hopes to travel as much as possible and already has a few trips planned! She "wishes everyone the best & will truly miss her Glendale Family"!
Congratulations to each of them! They will all be greatly missed & we wish them the best of luck on their new journeys.

We will be having "Welcome & Assessment Days" on Wednesday, September 8th & Thursday, September 9th where your student(s) will get a chance to meet their teacher and learn a little more of how the schedule will look. *Please look for a sign up link to come later this summer. If you have any questions please call the Glendale Office at 952.226.0200
PLSAS elementary schools will again hold "Great Start to Kindergarten." Designated days in
August were set aside for incoming Kindergarten students to come in prior to the school
year to be assessed. This gave the teachers an excellent indication where those students
were academically, so that curriculum planning could begin on day one. This year practice will continue and the dates for our Kindergarten assessments will be August 2nd-13th.
We will also be having "Welcome Days" on September 8th & 9th, where incoming Kindergarteners will be scheduled for individual time to meet their teacher. You will receive information in the back to school mailing mid-August.
