Transformed
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Principal's Corner
Happy New Year and welcome back to RHLS. I hope you enjoyed the Christmas and New Year break with family and friends. Thanks to everyone for their cards, gifts, and festive Christmas and New Year greetings!
During the break, we did some redecorating of our school office that includes pictures of our 56 graduating classes (since the founding of RHLS in 1961). Please stop in and view our new RHLS Legacy wall of photos when you have a moment.
This new year brings a lot of exciting events and activities that are shared in this month’s newsletter, please take some time to read through this January issue to make sure you are up to speed on all the upcoming plans.
We are looking forward to hosting the His Little Feet International Children’s Choir again this year. We need home stays for members of the group; this is a great opportunity (one that you won’t soon forget) for you and your family to get to know these amazing young girls and boys. More information is provided in this newsletter about the upcoming concerts and how you can participate.
Have you seen the latest edition of Parenting OC magazine? RHLS is featured in this month’s issue with a full page of colorful photos of our students and information about the many programs RHLS provides for students and parents.
I want to make special mention of our new Enrichment Program Director, Mrs. Caroline Elias. Mrs. Elias begins with us this new year and will work along with Mrs. Stacey Martinez to expand our before and after school enrichment programs (more information on Mrs. Elisa in this newsletter). Please join me in extending a warm RHLS welcome to Mrs. Elias.
You will notice several new student faces with us for the next two months. A small select group of International students from South Korea, and one student from China, will be learning in classes (2nd – 8th grades) alongside our RHLS students. Several of these students are returning to RHLS from last year, and will be familiar faces to their RHLS classmates. Ask your child about the new international visiting students they may have in their classes and encourage them to learn more about these new students and help make them feel welcome too.
Finally, please look for your personalized re-enrollment information coming in email on Monday, January 14th. Priority registration for current families to secure Fall 2019 spaces runs for two weeks until January 25th. Open enrollment for new families starts January 28th. We anticipate many classes quickly filling up to capacity.
Thanks for your continued prayerful support and partnership in the eternally important process of Christian Education.
Blessings,
Dr. Paul Marquardt, Principal
January Christian Character Quality: Wisdom
Philanthropy: Senior Serve
During the month of January, we will have the opportunity to make valentines for seniors who live at home, but are unable to go out without a lot of assistance. These little reminders of God's love for them are sure to have a big impact on their recipients, who often feel a bit lonely. Additionally, all chapel offerings collected will go to support SeniorServ's Meals on Wheels program, which delivers meals via friendly volunteers to those who are unable to shop and/or prepare meals for themselves.
