Principal's Message
Dear Parents,
I can’t believe that June is here and we are preparing to wrap up the school year. This has been an incredible first year for me at Camp Avenue. June will be a very busy month with all of the special events planned for our students. Please refer to the newsletter calendar for the many activities we have scheduled. Please also note that the last day of school will have an earlier dismissal time, 9:30 AM.
Thank you to the entire community for a passed school budget!
A special congratulations to all of our Camp Avenue 6th graders as they move on to MAMs. I am confident that they will be successful in all their future endeavors. For those parents who are also leaving us, I hope you look back on your time at Camp Avenue with fond memories.
We say goodbye to two of our staff members this year. Annmarie Cosgrove and Diane Miskit are retiring and beginning the next phase of their lives. We wish them luck in their future endeavors. They will be missed.
On behalf of the entire staff of Camp Avenue, we wish you a happy, fun-filled summer!
Sincerely,
Hillary K. Bromberg, Ed.D.

Did You Know we Have a Direct Absence Line?
Please be reminded that regular school attendance is not only mandated by law, but is a key ingredient for educational success. Legal reasons for absences include: illness, death in family, court appearances, and observance of religious holidays. If your child is frequently absent due to illness, you will be contacted and medical documentation may be requested. All other absences will be considered unexcused or truant.
Please also be aware that lateness to school can be considered partial truancy and is monitored as closely as absences. Chronic lateness is disruptive to the students in the class, the teacher, and most importantly, to the child. Parents and guardians are asked to contact the school to report each absence. This can be done by calling our Absentee Line at 516-379-3733. If you are requesting classwork and/or homework for your child on the day of the absence, please leave that message with the nurse or on the absence line. Parents are requested to submit a written and signed excuse note for each absence your child has, when they return to school.
