Crosby Scholars Scholarship Opportunities
Don't wait! APPLY TODAY in your Crosby Scholars Student Portal. New opportunities are posted in your Crosby Scholars Student Portal every Monday. You may apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for!

Are you attending UNC Chapel Hill and need money for college? Then apply for the Dean Smith Integrity Award and the Fulton Carolina Medal TODAY!
Students must submit an online application through the "Scholarships Application" page in their Crosby Scholars Student Portal to apply.
The Fulton Carolina Medal, which was first awarded in 2006, provides one $1,500 non-renewable scholarship annually to a graduating Crosby Scholar senior with an exceptional commitment to volunteer service and who plans to enroll at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This award is in honor of Paul Fulton’s commitment to Crosby Scholars and to UNC Chapel Hill and to honor his inspiring record of service to individuals and to the larger community.
Eligibility
To be considered for this award, applicants must:
- demonstrate an active and exemplary commitment to volunteer service
- choose to enroll at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- complete all requirements of the Crosby Scholars Program
Value
$1,500; renewable
Application Procedure
Students may begin applying April 5, 2021 and must submit a completed online application through their Crosby Scholars Student Portal by May 2, 2021.

The Dean Smith Integrity Award, first awarded in 2015, provides one $1,000 non-renewable scholarship to a graduating Crosby Scholar senior who exemplifies the virtues of integrity, loyalty, and open-mindedness and who plans to enroll at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This award is to honor the memory of Coach Dean Smith, his commitment to both the Crosby National Celebrity Golf Tournament and the Crosby Scholars Invitational Golf Tournament. This award also honors his inspiring record of leadership, service, and excellence.
Eligibility
To be considered for this award, applicant must:
- Demonstrate an active commitment to leadership
- choose to enroll at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- complete all requirements of the Crosby Scholars Program
Value
$1,000; non-renewable

Thurgood Marshall College Fund Webinar - April 12 @ 6PM
Learn about the Thurgood Marshall College Fund's work supporting ALL students who attend Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Students MUST register to attend in the Crosby Scholars Student Portal in order to receive attendance link.

Thurgood Marshall believed that affordable higher education was the key to success - and potential for success lies in us all. If you are a Crosby Scholars senior and plan to attend or you are thinking about attending an HBCU, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund might be right for you! Crosby Scholars juniors are also encouraged to attend!
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund is an organization that supports students attending HBCU's by providing scholarships, internships, leadership development, and full time job opportunities.
Special Guest Speaker: Betsy Burton-Strunk from Thurgood Marshall College Fund will present TMCF Scholarship information, including currently open Scholarship opportunities for all students who are interested in attending an HBCU in the Fall of 2021.
You are invited to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund Learning Session from 6-7 p.m. on April 12. This event will be hosted via Zoom.
For any Crosby Scholars senior attending an HBCU or Crosby Scholars junior who plans to attend an HBCU

FAFSA Help Drive-In Events: April 10, 17, and 24
Are you a high school senior or current college student working on your FAFSA form? Help is available!
In partnership with Gear Up and myFutureNC, CFNC is assisting with multiple FAFSA Drive-In events across North Carolina on Saturdays in April. The dates will be April 10, 17, and 24th from 10 am - 2 pm, and multiple colleges are hosting on various dates. Spanish support is available!
Free WiFi will be provided at each site. Bring your own charged device (mobile or laptop) and masked volunteers will answer questions through your car window.
