Girls on the Run - Heart & Sole for Middle School Girls
Are you a runner, or someone who likes to promote wellness? We are seeking volunteer coaches for an exciting program.
KPMS would like to explore interest in an afterschool Girls on the Run - Heart & Sole program this spring. The program would run 2x per week for approximately 10 weeks.
Girls on the Run (GOTR) Boston is a research based program where trained volunteer coaches inspire girls of all abilities to strengthen confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity.
Their middle school program, Heart & Sole considers the whole person – body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection. Heart & Sole offers an inclusive place of belonging, where girls feel supported and inspired to explore their emotions, cultivate empathy and strengthen their physical and emotional health. At the end of the season, all program participants complete a 5K.
The typical registration is $225 per girl and includes 20 ninety-minute sessions conducted by certified GOTR volunteer coaches, curriculum and lesson materials, an official GOTR program T-shirt and water bottle, 5K Registration fee and T-shirt, 5K Medal and Post 5K celebration. Please note, an additional $25 registration fee will be due midway through the season for each participant's Running Buddy. The organization also makes scholarships available for families with financial hardship.
GOTR is hosting a virtual Open House on Janualry 11, if you want to learn more about getting involved or coaching. Registration Link for Virtual Open House
To gauge interest in bringing this program to KPMS, please let us know if you would like your child to participate and/or if you would like to volunteer to coach by completing the interest form:
