Welcome to the October/November edition of our school newsletter. We hope you enjoyed reading the September edition. A lot of exciting things have been taking place at WIN and we want to share them with you.
We continue to have high expectations for our students and encourage them to have a WINNING attitude everyday.

Thanksgiving Lunch and Learn
Thursday, November 10
10:30 AM-12 Noon
Please make plans to join us for our upcoming Thanksgiving Parents And Students Together Lunch and Learn. This event will include an engaging yet fun academic activity followed by Thanksgiving lunch with your student. There will be DOOR PRIZES given away! You don't want to miss that!Lunch will be prepared by our cafeteria staff and will include traditional Thanksgiving foods. The cost per guest is $3.75. We kindly ask that you bring the exact amount or pay using small bills only.

FCA is HERE!
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Our FCA huddles are held the first Thursday of each month from 9:40AM-10:20AM. Students can participate by signing up to receive an entrance ticket from Coach Rouse. During the meetings, guest speakers will address the group and share personal testimonies and words of encouragement, wisdom and hope.
Mr. Chris Lones was our program's first presenter, and he spoke a powerfully moving message to our students and staff.
On November 6th, we will welcome Jaylan Lowder, former student from Veterans High School, magna cum laude graduate from FVSU and a current teacher and coach for the district.

It is our Mission at WIN Academy to provide flexible learning opportunities that lead to graduation. Our Vision is to support students academically and socially to ensure their success today and into the future.
The following events will be provided for our students to expose them to resources and programs of opportunity as they plan for their future beyond graduation.
College and University Presentations
In September, the Principal for the Dual Achievement Program at Central Georgia Technical College, LaKeitha Weston, spoke to our students about a new educational opportunity. From that meeting, two of our students were accepted into the program!

Mr. Keese, Director of Educational Talent Search at Fort Valley State University, spoke with our middle and high schoolers about the 3 C's: Courage-Commitment-Character as well as I Can; I Will Succeed.

US Military Presentations
WIN Academy hosted representatives from the Unites States Army and Navy. These Armed Forces Specialists spoke with our 10th, 11th and 12th graders about the opportunities and benefits of joining the military.
