What was the message behind the 'I have a dream' speech?
Research indicates the major purpose of Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech was a call for equality. It identified the faults of America and what measures were needed to make it a better place. A central theme throughout the speech was the importance of everyone being treated equally.
This is still a good motto to live by - our students should be treated equally no matter their race, ethnicity, economic status, gender or who their Momma, Daddy, sister or brother is or is not. Our students deserve to be seen for who they are as an individual. They each have strengths and they each have faults - let's hope they are not solely judged by those faults, but instead are guided to become a better, more well-rounded individual who will become a contributing member of society. Let's develop their strengths into part of their strong character and create a leader within each one of our Warriors!

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
Monday, January 9th, was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. Mrs. Daniel and I brought a platter full of cupcakes, cookies and cake balls to Bonham Police Department Officers and Fannin County Sherriff's Deputies to show Bonham ISD's appreciation for the work they do each and every day to keep our students and staff safe.
While delivering to the Sherriff's office, we got a nice tour of the facility from Detective Vasquez!

steaks for success
Last Monday night, the boys cross country team, the robotics team and the BHS Warrior band members who advanced to the All-Region Band concert were celebrated with steaks, potatoes, salad and dessert.
It was a good night and always fun to talk to our students about their passion and about what they are excelling in at school.
