COUNSELOR'S COUCH...
For the last week in October, we will be promoting our Character trait of Respect through Red Ribbon Week theme days. The National Family Partnership was established in 1980 by a group of concerned parents who wanted to have an impact on drug prevention in our society. Red Ribbon Week is a component of their awareness program and was designed to highlight the importance of their message.
Our district will participate in Red Ribbon Week with the following theme days:
Monday, October 26: Give Drugs the Boot- Wear your best western attire.
Tuesday, October 27: Lei off Drugs- Wear your most tropical outfit.
Wednesday, October 28: I’m Red-y to be Drug Free- Wear your red gear and sign the Red Ribbon Pledge.
Thursday, October 29: Too Bright for Drugs- Wear your brightest neon clothes and accessories.
Friday, October 30: Team up Against Drugs- Wear your Viking or favorite team’s jersey or shirt.
Our NJHS students will be involved in the presentation of character traits this year—stay tuned for more details!
The Junior League of Austin will be sponsoring their 2015 Coats for Kids event. The coats are collected and then distributed to eligible children. For more information, please pick up a flyer in our front office.

A special thanks goes out to Haley, Monsie, Addy, Sam, Dillon, Nathan, Chandler, and Jack who had not competed all season, but stepped up to race for us so that we could put together a team. I am extremely proud of all of these athletes.

The next Yoe possession had them moving the ball until Josh Alexander strips the ball away for an LV turnover. The Vikes began with Layne Powers making a few nice runs and blocks. Then after two failed pass attempts K. Alderete caught the toss from A. Hernandez and went 42yds. to paydirt for the TD. L. Powers, N. Hernandez & Noah Yetly were blocking downfield. J. 8th Grade:
The Cameron Yoemen took it to the hometown Vikings by rumbling up & down the field at will during the 1st half of action Thursday night. The Yoe led 32 – 0 at the half. The 3rd Qtr. was better where the Vikings defense stiffened to keep the Yoemen out of the endzone. The Vikings also got on the board after a pass from Preston Coffey to Ethan Arnold. The next play Josh Hernandez raced to the endzone for 6 pts. The 2pt. attempt fell incomplete. Yoe 32 & Vikings 6. The following series saw the Vikings hold and the Yoe kneeled to win the game on the final play. Yoe 32 & Vikings 6. Josh Hernandez ran well at fullback, P.
