SHOUTOUT
Our final totals for the food drive are in. The top five classes are in 5th place Mrs.
Cynthia Tucker, in 4th place Mrs. Rhodes, in 3rd place with 30 items per student Mrs. Maresh, in 2nd place with 38 items per student and the highest net total (831 items) Mrs. Vasbinder, and in 1st place with highest number of items per student, 42, Mrs.Turner. Our final total collection is 4,002! The Beta Club will reward the top five classes. Congratulations and thank you Wildcats!
CTE
All in a day's learning: Richlands High School FFA Career and Technical Student Organization under the leadership of Dr. Albert Jones and Jillian Ford. And collaboration between Ken Brown's Drafting program and Coastal Carolina Community College's Drafting Instructor.

- Senior make up pictures and underclassmen make up pictures will be Jan. 4. Forms are available in the front office.
- Winter sports pictures will be Jan. 4. Forms available from coaches and athletic director.
- Last day to purchase a senior ad is January 31st. Purchase can be made at jostensyearbooks.com

- Coastal Carolina Community College will be hosting an Industrial Technology Open House on Thursday, December 13 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Tours will be offered. Report to the James S. Melton Vocational Skills Center on the Coastal Carolina Community College campus. Explore programs such as Agriculture Technology, Electronics Engineering, Power line Technician and more. Come out and enjoy some free pizza and find out about exciting Career Opportunities and possible scholarships. Juniors and seniors, you will be receiving a flyer for this event in your school email.
- Attention juniors; the deadline for the Coastal Carolina Community College Career Expo Field Trip has been extended until Thursday, December 13. Please see any CTE Teacher, Guidance, or the Front Office for an application.
- No "Outside Food" is allowed on campus (McDonald's, Subway, Taco Bell, etc.) Food can not be delivered to the school. All delivery drivers have been informed to report to the front office.
AVID Tutor Spotlight
- Andrea Bissette
- My name is Andrea Bissette. I am the mother of three Amber who is 19 Ale’ who is 16 and Christopher is 13. My husband is a retired Marine of 23 years. We have lived in California Florida South Carolina and North Carolina. He flew the 46 and finished his career as an osprey pilot. I graduated high school and went into the United States Air Force and serve three years as a laboratory technician I transferred from active duty two reserves and went back to school to become a registered nurse I worked as a registered nurse for nine years and decided to become a stay at home mom because my husband was deploying often. I have kept my license active but because I was always volunteering at school the principal offered me a job as a TA and then I decided I wanted to be a tutor I’ve been a tutor for five years for Stateside Elementary and now begin my journey as an avid tutor for Richlands High School and Trexler Middle School. I have been the PTO president for Trexler for the past eight years and love being part of my community and helping others in my spare time I make bows for cheerleading and shirts and design stickers and logos. I own my own business named Bissette Bowtique. I also volunteer on many committees for Richlands High and School Trexler middle.
Science
AP Environmental Science students conducted a lab looking at biodiversity of islands and migration of species using the Shannon Index.
World Language
- This semester Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 students have had the unique opportunity to participate in a Penpal exchange with high school students from Guayaquil, Ecuador. The letters have allowed our students to use their Spanish beyond the classroom and to write with meaning and purpose. Our students have eagerly awaited each letter and have enjoyed learning about each other´s cultures and daily lives. They have exchanged two letters so far in which they have discussed each other´s likes and dislikes, families, school life and pastimes.
Senior News
- Prom tickets are on sale for $60 now through December 20, 2018. Students will need a prom contract signed by a parent in order to purchase tickets. See Mrs. Justine Smith in room 103 during Power Hour to purchase your ticket. Ticket prices will go up to $75 from January 2 through January 17, 2019. No tickets will be sold after this date.
- Seniors who were unable to order cap and gown and announcements can go online to Jostens.com or Jostens will be back on Friday, December 14th during Power Hour to take orders. Juniors can also order rings at that time.

2019 Graduation Information
- Graduation Ceremony: Monday June 17 @ 10 a.m. Gym (Seniors should be at school no later than 9 a.m.)
- Graduation Practice: Friday June 14 @ 2 p.m. in Gym **Practice is required to participate in the ceremony
Student Parking
Students who still need to purchase a parking pass need to see Mrs. Turner ASAP. Student parking enforcement has begun.
Parking/Student Drop and Pick Up
- Morning and afternoon traffic is working great thus far! Please ensure that you go with traffic and through the front or side traffic patterns as setup with cones. Do not attempt to cut in front of other students or vehicles as we try to ensure safety on the campus. Please be patient!!!
- Handicap Parking is only to be utilized by vehicles with proper placard. Do not park in these spots without your placard.
- ALL VEHICLES MUST FOLLOW TRAFFIC PATTERN. Please do not move, or drive through, any cones or barriers and stay off all grassy areas.
