Join us at our 1st SECAC Meeting!
Wednesday August 28th | 6:ooPM | CCPS Board of Education
Let's start the year off right and be the best advocate for our children with disabilities!
How many times have we heard about all the things our kids can’t do? But on the other hand we are being told to have high expectations, so how do we balance the two? By being your child’s best advocate, as well as seeing that our children are way more than a score on a test, can help us to achieve a much needed balance. We will look at how multiple intelligences can help us see our children in a different light with unique gifts.

Caroline County is looking for more parents of students with disabilities to join our SECAC!
What is SECAC?
It stands for the Special Education Citizen’s Advisory Committee (SECAC). It is a committee established by the local school system to seek meaningful input from parents, community partners, service providers, educators, and administrators on local issues relative to the provision of a free appropriate public education (FAPE) and the achievement of students with disabilities.
To work most effectively a SECAC operates as a partnership between:
- parents and families,
- community leaders and organizations,
- educators, and
- administrators at the local level.
Come learn along with us and help to impact positive changes in the delivery of special education services and the achievement of students with disabilities!
