Upcoming Maryland School Survey
State law requires that all public schools in Maryland survey students about school climate. The Maryland School Survey provides Local School Systems (LSSs), the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and families with valuable information about the learning environment, climate, and safety of each public school in the State of Maryland. The survey is administered in the spring of each school year as a part of the Maryland Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Consolidated State Plan. Grades 5-11 students and instructional staff will have the opportunity to participate in the survey which takes less than 30 minutes and is available in English or Spanish.
Students will take the survey during regular school hours between February 22nd - April 22nd.
The survey will ask students about topics such as student engagement, interactions with adults and with other students in the school, the school environment, bullying, and safety. The survey will not ask about a student’s personal experiences, and students will not be asked to provide any information that might violate his or her privacy.
JMB will be giving the survey during the week of March 20th For more information about the Maryland School Survey please see the attachment to the weekly message.

We are looking for parent volunteers for spaghetti dinner as we are trying to raise money for the class to help raise funds that will allow our students to have a memorable senior year, on average senior year activities cost around $20,000. Our spaghetti dinner is being held March 10 from 5:30 to 8 and is the only big fundraiser that the sophomores participate in for their class. For the spaghetti dinner, we are looking for parents to help with Decorations, food donations and donation of auction items.
