The SHHS Quarterback, Fernando Campos, was injured earlier this season after sustaining a collarbone break. He was adamant about continuing to support his team.
How did the injury change your perspective?
"It made me appreciate it more. Like being out there I realized that one single play can get you injured."
How are you able to support your team now?
"By being out here and calling plays with the coaches, I've been able to help with plays and drills. I'm watching my team grow and improve at the game day by day."
What have you learned from the experience?
"I've learned that I'm really good at being a coach and that even though sometimes things happen, my love for the game will always overpower obstacles thrown in my way. Being a part of this team no matter the role is okay in my book!"
The coaching staff is excited to train Campos and help him improve in any way possible. We are so proud to have such resilient athletes who are willing to learn and grow.

South Hills HS had a special guest visit their open field last week. Reggie Cannon, a current member of the US Men's National Soccer Team and professional team Biovista (Portugal Primera), was able to visit with and sign autographs for the local neighborhood kids and South Hills students. He was also able to donate soccer cleats to a few of our most deserving athletes. USMNT will have extra some fans cheering loudly from the South Side of Fort Worth as they travel to the World Cup in Qatar next month.
