From the Desk of the Principal
As a staff, we have welcomed many wonderful new scholars to Trix Academy. We are ecstatic all of our new scholars are part of the Trix Academy Community. To begin the school we, we had a successful first assembly of the year. Scholars reviewed the school rules as well as learned how Kickboard will help guide their decisions. Scholars also participated in their first incentive Friday of the year, which celebrated their positive decision making skills throughout the school day. Another first pertained to scholars receiving instruction from our new reading and math curriculum. Both curriculums are rigorous and requires all scholars in each grade level to think deeply in order to apply and demonstrate what they have learned.
Character Reports
Trix Academy's school-wide behavior system is called Kickboard. Through Kickboard scholars earn a virtual or pretend check deposited into their virtual or pretend bank accounts. Connected to the Kickboard system is each scholars' Kickboard Character Report. Their report identifies the positive and negative behaviors each scholar may have received along with the dollar amount that coincides with each. Every Friday, scholars will bring home their character reports as a way to help keep all families on the same page regarding our scholars behavioral decisions. Please review and discuss with your scholar his/her character report. After reviewing the report, if you have any questions, please speak with your child's teacher.

Boys and Girls Club, Ernst and Young Associates Partnership
Trix Academy is continuing its partnerships this school year. Last school year, Trix Academy partnered with Consumers Energy, Habitat Wildlife and Central Michigan University to beautify the front of the school. On October 4, 2019, Trix Academy is partnering with The Boys and Girls Club and Ernst and Young Associates to provide our middle school scholars with the opportunity to learn about accounting. Scholars will learn the basics of accounting through guest speakers, discussions and hands on activities. We would like to thank both organizations in advance for supporting our scholars at Trix Academy.

October's Virtue
October's Virtue
As a reminder, Trix Academy is continuing to teach our scholars the skills needed to be productive scholars. This school year, we are taking a more extensive approach through the teaching of character virtues. The virtues addresses all behaviors we will see as a school community and will help guide our scholars as they continue to grow daily. Our virtues are truth, justice, harmony, reciprocity, propriety, balance and order.
During the month of October, Trix scholars will focus on one virtue to gain a better and deeper understanding. The virtue for October is Harmony. Harmony means to be in accord or agreement, as in feeling or opinion. When our scholars demonstrates harmony they will show qualities of unity, order and balance. They will maintain positive relationships and social interactions throughout the school day. Please ask your child how he/she has demonstrated harmony while at school.
Family Night
