Message from the Principal
Dear Whittier Parents/Guardians,
Next week is December already! I can't believe it! This year is moving fast.
I continue to ask for your support in ensuring your students are here everyday and on time. Every minute counts! From when they line up to come in with their class, until the bell rings at the end of the day, it is learning time. Your students are growing as readers, mathematicians and amazing human beings. We need them here to help them reach their full potential.
As a school, we are working on social emotional learning. And although we are extremely privileged to teach your student, as parents, you are their first teacher; most impactful teacher. Please take a few minutes and speak to your child about what it means to be respectful, what it means to be kind to one another, how to empower each other as friends instead of putting each other down. We need to be partners in creating a better future for our kids.
As always, have a wonderful weekend! Remind your student to read, read, read!
PARKING
- Please be respectful to school and parking signs outside. We really need to make sure ALL our students get home safely.
- If you are picking up your student, please park and walk to get them from their line up. All K-2 student will give their teachers a high five, to ensure they have seen the adult picking them up.
- When it is raining and eventually snowing, the same expectations will be enforced.
- DO NOT STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND CALL YOUR STUDENT TO CROSS THE ROAD. We want to prevent any accidents that will cause injury to any of our students.
