Health & Safety Updates - Email Message from 9/10/21
Good afternoon, Doyle Families,
I hope this email finds you well. I wanted to send a follow up communication in regards to the latest revisions to the CBSD Health and Safety Plan.
As you know, the Health and Safety plan (approved 8-31-21) is available for review on our website here. This plan includes required face coverings in accordance with the Order of the Acting Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Directing Face Coverings in School Entities.
Individuals, including students, staff, parents, and all visitors, who wish to request a mask exception must review and submit the Central Bucks School District’s face covering exemption form. No other form will be accepted for reason of exemption from the face-covering order. Please send the signed hard copy form to school with your child if they will not be wearing a mask.
I encourage all families to have a conversation with your child around the topic of face coverings so your child understands proper mask-wearing behaviors, as well as your family's personal expectations. My hope is this will help our students make the best choices for themselves and their family.
Please know teachers and staff will provide gentle reminders, to those students wearing masks, to keep them fitted correctly, covering the mouth and nose and not under their chin. Mask breaks are offered frequently throughout the day, as well.
As always, your support and respectful collaboration are very much appreciated as we work through this together.
Kind regards,
Kate Fantaskey

Attendance Procedures
The Central Bucks School District will be changing the way in which absences are reported, beginning with the start of this upcoming school year on August 30, 2021. The following items are some key points to be aware of.
- Parents and guardians will be able to submit absence requests via the Parent Portal. Parents can request a full day absence, early dismissal, or late arrival.
- Absence requests will be reviewed by School Attendance Staff and approved or denied.
- Requests made using the Parent Portal will also serve as the excuse for the absence. Parents will not be required to submit an excuse either electronic or written.
- Parents and guardians can also still call the school to report an absence, but emails will no longer be accepted.
In addition, when a student is absent from school, but the school did not receive communication from the parent or guardian, the following communication will be sent:
- A text message will be sent midmorning notifying the parent or guardian of the absence
- An email will also be sent at the end of the school day reminding the parent or guardian that the student was marked absent.
Information regarding how to use the Parent Portal to report an absence can be found here.
