UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON EDUCATOR APPRECIATION DAY, OCT 12
University of Houston invites Humble ISD teachers and administrators to an Educator Appreciation Day game on Thursday, October 12, at TDECU Stadium. HHS THEATRE PRESENTS ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, OCT 12-14
HHS Theatre with HHS Fine Arts proudly presents Once On This Island at 7 p.m., October 12-14, at the HHS Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $7 for students and $15 for adults.

Please join us as Theatre, Choir, Dance, Engineering, Construction Trades, Life Skills, Ross Sterling Middle School, Humble Middle School students and so many more collaborate on this Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale, The Little Mermaid.
Proceeds from all ticket sales go into the Dr. Al Moore Musical Theatre Endowment fund that will ensure HHS students have regular opportunities to explore musical theatre. If you are unable to attend but would still like to support our program, please consider buying a ticket anyway. In the comments section just write "donate" and we will make sure your ticket goes to a student that otherwise might not be able to attend.
WLMS RUN WITH THE PACK 5K, OCT 14
Join West Lake Middle School for the first annual Run with the Pack 5K at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, at the WLMS campus. Single tickets are $10 and family packs are $25 (up to 5 people). You may also purchase a shirt for $15. Funds from this event go toward the WLMS annual fund.

SCHS THEATRE PRESENTS BLITHE SPIRIT, OCT 20-21
Summer Creek High School Theatre presents Blithe Spirit, a hilarious comedy where a fussy, cantankerous novelist finds himself haunted by the ghost of his late first wife.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Oct 20 & 21, and 2 p.m. on Oct. 21, at in the PAC. Tickets are $10 adults, $7 students, free for staff, and can be purchased at seatyourself.biz/summercreek.
LADY MUSTANGS BASKETBALL CLINIC, OCT 21
The Kingwood High School Lady Mustangs are having a Basketball Clinic for children in grades K-6 on Saturday, October 21, at KHS. Grades K-3 will be from 8-10 a.m. and grades 4-6 will be 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. For admission, please bring a canned good. All proceeds will go to Mission NorthEast.
PARENT UNIVERSITY OCTOBER SESSION
Substance Use and Abuse: Thursday, October 26, 2023/ 6-8 p.m. / Humble ISD Community Learning Center, 18901 Timber Forest Drive Please join us for this in-person workshop as we share ways to identify signs, symptoms and mental health risks due to substance use. We will look at early intervention strategies and discuss the behavioral impact of substance use. Additionally, we will share preventative measures you can take today for your children's safety. ZOMBIE FUN RUN 2023, OCT 28
The Atascocita High School Marine Corps JROTC Program is proud to host the 10th Annual AHS Zombie 5K Fun Run on Saturday, October 28. The event starts at 9 a.m. for Elementary only, and 10:30 a.m. for all others, on the grounds at Atascocita High School. All runners must register for the event. The first 150 to register receive a t-shirt. Register for the Zombie Fun Run
HOLIDAYS AT THE PARK, NOV 4
Kingwood Park High School Band invites families to Holidays at the Park, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 4, at KPHS.
Step into a winter wonderland of joy and excitement at the Holidays at the Park festival, a fun-filled celebration for the whole community. This year will include:
- Carnival Activities and Games
- Meet and Take Pictures with Santa (just in time for holiday cards)
- Vendor Village
- Sweet Shoppe and Savory Delights
- Live Entertainment from Surrounding Schools
Wrist bands and individual tickets will be sold, and all proceeds from the festival's activities go directly to support the Band Program. Bring your family and friends to celebrate the spirit of the season at Holidays at the Park!

HARTA EDUCATOR SCHOLARSHIP
The Humble ISD Education Foundation has partnered with the Humble Area Retired Teachers Association to offer educator scholarships to Humble ISD educators. Scholarships up to $500 an applicant are awarded to Humble ISD educators to help support continuing education and professional development. DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARD NOMINATIONS OPEN NOW
The Humble ISD Education Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Humble ISD Distinguished Alumni Award. If you know of a Humble ISD alumnus who graduated at least 25 years ago and is deserving to be recognized, nominate them today by visiting the Education Foundation Distinguished Alumni page. Nominations will close on January 15, 2024
INNOVATIVE EDUCATION GRANT APPLICATION NOW OPEN
The Humble ISD Education Foundation funds innovative and creative projects that enrich student learning experiences. IE grants are awarded to teachers, programs, and departments across the district.
Visit the Education Foundation website for information on the application process, resource videos, and grant writing workshops. The district-wide grant writing workshops provide tips on how to develop a winning grant proposal. Register for an upcoming IE Grants Workshop today. Submit your application before 11:59 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024.

AFTER SCHOOL CARE BY THE YMCA
The YMCA After School Program makes the most of your child's after school time by offering active learning opportunities designed to engage and expand young minds. After school care is offered Monday through Friday from school dismissal through 6:30 p.m. at all Humble ISD elementary schools.
