Awesome Blossoms
We continued with our spring and nature theme after April break. During center rotations, we made turtles, painted peacocks, ripped paper to make flowers, made a nest for paper birds, painted with sticks and flowers, and counted spring objects. We also ordered strips from shortest to longest, sorted hot and cold pictures, talked about big and little animals, matched shapes, traced lines, put pegs in peg boards, etc. During circle time, we read books about actions around the house, practiced turning pages of books, did some stretching exercises, and sang several songs. We read various books about caterpillars and watched our own little caterpillars grow bigger and bigger!
During P.E., we practiced walking up and down stairs, riding trikes, rolling balls, and playing Duck Duck Goose! At Friends Group, we took turns putting marbles down the marble maze and we built together with wooden blocks. We also played Musical Chairs, and pretended to be waiters/customers in our dramatic play pizza parlor! Last week, we celebrated Ms. Veronica's birthday - happy birthday!! Yesterday, while we were at the playground, the fire department was outside and we had a great time watching them do some controlled fire demonstrations.
