Grow It Green
Last week, Farmer Tina visited the Intermediate Unit for her second visit for the month of November.
Her lesson focused on the changing seasons and the importance of eating foods in season. Students tried in-season roasted turnips and raw turnips. The roasted turnips will be baked with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Thank you to Grow It Green for their continuing partnership!
Scholastic Bookfair
Normandy Park School will be hosting our Winter Book Fair from December 3rd to December 6th. This will be our first of two book fairs that we will have this school year. During the week, students will have the opportunity to shop with their class.
There will be Sunset shopping hours 5pm - 6:15pm on Thursday 12/5
Coding at NPS
During the week of December 9th, schools around world will celebrate computer science education by participating in the Hour of Code!
Mrs. Gilson has already been preparing our students through developmentally appropriate and engaging coding activities. One site that our students utilize for coding is http://code.org/ Feel free to check it out!
NPS Volunteers
Volunteers are always welcome at Normandy Park School, so if you did not attend the Volunteer Orientation and are unable to complete the form in advance, copies of the information packet/form will be available in the main office. In this case, we recommend you arrive a few minutes early so you have time to review and sign the volunteer form.
Moving forward, we will have information provided to interested parent volunteers at Back to School Night.
Thank you again for your ongoing time and support!
