Colonial Day is a long-standing tradition at Barclay for milestone anniversaries (25th, etc.). As you know, we are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. Children will experience a one-room schoolhouse by going to a class with mixed grade peers that morning. Staff and students are asked to bring clothing items to dress in attire that was worn in those days. Please see below for costume ideas:

Boys:

* a plain white shirt with sleeves that go to your wrist

* breeches can be made from old pants cut at the knee and folded into a cuff or baseball pants

* White long soccer type socks that meet the cuff of the breeches

* a plain vest

* a handkerchief or cloth napkin, tied at the neck

* a straw, felt hat, tricorn hat or cloth cap

Girls:

* a plain white shirt with sleeves that go to your elbow or wrist

* a long skirt, either plain, striped or checked

* a handkerchief or cloth napkin, tied at the neck

* an apron that ties at your waist and is plain

* you can make a cap by taking a circle of white fabric and putting in a drawstring to fit it to your head

PARENTS: Get ready for Report Cards!

Many of you already set up your Parent Portal access for CB and/or viewed the progress report (report card) on-line for your child last year. That said, some of you still need to get ready to view the 2nd Marking Period progress report that will come out in early February. For those who don't know, CB is paperless with its progress reports for children. So when it is released in February, you MUST view it on-line. If you8 need to get your access (NOW!) or just aren't sure you have it, click here to get it or double-check on your status. Only takes a minute. Thank you!
