  • Honor Choir - rehearsal at 10 AM (come dressed for concert), concert at 11:30 AM at Tritico Theater on the corner of Ryan and Sale RDs


Monday, 2/6

  • NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION opens online and continues through February 28th
  • 5th grade BETA Convention in Lafayette 2/6 and 2/7


Tuesday, 2/7

  • Cubs for Christ Meeting in Library (5th grade leaders and siblings may be dropped in front circle from 7-7:10 AM) all others 7:15 drop off at regular locations; meeting starts at 7:25 AM, doors closed to late entries with the exception of bus riders
  • 3rd/4th grade Mighty Mu 3-3:45 PM


Wednesday, 2/8

  • Garden Club 3-3:45 PM


Thursday, 2/9

  • Cookie dough fundraiser ends (all grades turn in packets and money)
  • 3rd grade field trip 8 AM - 12:15 PM
  • Purple library leaders 3-3:45 PM (pick up on Fall ST)
  • Synergy 3-3:45 PM (pick up on Fall ST)
  • Robotics 3-4:30 PM (pick up on Fall ST)

Tuesday, 2/14

**The annual T.S. Cooley Mardi Gras parade will be Friday, February 17th @ 1:30 PM.

LEAP TESTING INFORMATION

All third through fifth grade students will be taking the LEAP 2025 state assessment April 26th - May 2nd. Please avoid scheduling appointments during this time.


Please refer to the T.S. Cooley Handbook for any questions regarding maintenance requirements at T.S. Cooley.

UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS

Uniforms reminders:

  • jeans cannot have rips or tears
  • shorts and skirts must be an appropriate length
  • free bottom Friday clothes must also follow appropriate length guideline (good rule of thumb - bottom of fingers with hands by side)

LOUISIANA DAY SIGN UP - LINK BELOW

February 17th is only 2 weeks away. Time to sign up to help us get ready for the best day of the year, Louisiana Day at T.S. Cooley! We are looking forward to a guest author, special dance presentation, a Louisiana inspire art project and other cultural activities before our parade at 1:30 PM.


The volunteer link is posted below. Anyone not volunteering is welcome to meet us at the parade on Center Street at 1:30. No need to sign-in at the front office.

This is being shared in an effort to promote positive digital citizenship for our students. There has been a significant increase in students sharing information about screen time at home, sites they visit, communication apps, sharing options, etc. Our goal of developing well-rounded students addresses all areas of growth, including digital safety.

AMERICAN LEGION AMERICAN ESSAY CONTEST

Students in grades 3-5 are invited to participate in this year's essay contest. The Essay theme is "What does patriotism mean to you?" The word requirement for grades 3 and 4 is 150-250 words. The requirement for 5th grade is 250-300 words. The cover sheet with all the information that must accompany the essay is provided in the link below. Completed essays must be turned in to the school office no later that February 14th. They will be picked up by the American Legion the following morning.

AR END OF YEAR CELBRATION GOALS


Bingo Bash Celebration- Grades 2-5 have been working on Bingo Cards. Those with a blackout by May 1st will get an invite to the Bingo Bash.


AR Pep Rally- Grades 1-5

AR goals to meet by May 1st for invite:

1st- 25 points

2nd- 50 points

3rd- 75 points

4th/5th- 100 points

*Many students in each grade level have met this goal already!!! Whoohoo!

--Donation items of Saints, MSU, and LSU are needed for this event. Drop off in the library anytime. Thank you.

CUB SCOUT PACK 1 RECOGNIZES TWO 1ST GRADERS

David M. and Gabe C. earned their Bobcat badge and were awarded and recognized at their recent pack meeting. Now the boys are working on their Wolf badge. Congratulations!

5TH GRADER WITH 9 YEARS EXPERIENCE, ASPIRES TO PROFESSIONAL SOCCER CAREER

This past Saturday, Maci and her team at Soccer Revolution competed in the playoffs and their team won 8-7 with Maci scoring three of those points. She even played at goal keeper and caught an amazing shot. She’s been playing soccer since she was 2 years old and hopes to be a professional soccer player one day.

MRS. BABAZ GREETS STUDENTS AT DROP OFF ON THE 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL

Mrs. Babaz is pictured with 1st grader, William R., on the 100th day of school. Kindergarten students dress up every year as centenarians to celebrate this milestone in the school year.
