HCS Presents Virtual Curriculum Showcase
The information provided will help middle and high school students and their families make informed decisions regarding course selections for the 2021-2022 school year.
There are a variety of virtual sessions to choose from including information on Advanced Placement (AP) and honors classes, dual enrollment, magnet programs, career technical education, International Baccalaureate program, the college application and selection process, athletics, and the math course-of-study. These sessions are all pre-recorded on-demand videos available on the district website. Session videos vary in length but will be accessible throughout the month of February.

DAC First Public Meeting set for Feb. 2 at Lee High School at 6:30 p.m.
This meeting is designed to keep the community informed about the Desegregation Advisory Comittee (DAC) and the implementation of the Consent Order, as well as provide an open forum for community memebers to ask questions and provide feedback regarding their experiences with the implementation of thr Consent Order to the DAC members. (per section 9 pgs. 83-85 of the Consent Order)

Health Reminders
As we enter cold and flu season as well as continue in a COVID-19 pandemic, here are a few practical reminders to help mitigate the risk of illness.
- DO wear your mask at all times when on school campus and in public places.
- DO wash your hands often and/or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- DO cover your cough or sneeze by coughing or sneezing into a tissue or your elbow.
- DO practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible, even if 6 feet of spacing cannot be maintained.
- DO NOT come to work, school, or extracurricular events if you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or another contagious illness. Symptoms of COVID-19 include the following: new loss of taste or smell, new onset cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, fatigue, muscle or body aches, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
- If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days, DO NOT come to work, school, or extracurricular events.
- If you have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting results, DO NOT come to work, school, or extracurricular events.
- If you have tested positive for COVID-19 with or without symptoms, then you need to remain home for 10 days from the onset of symptoms, be fever-free for at least 24 hours without using fever reducing medication, and have improvement of symptoms.
- REMINDER a clearance note from a health care provider is required to return to work or school if a person is exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
- ADPH exclusionary periods will be followed for suspected COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses.

Testing Information
- ASLDE requires students to take State-level assessments in-person in a proctored environment. Some assessments may be online but must still occur in a proctored setting.
- ALL HVA students will be required to come to school to take the ALSDE mandated assessments.
