Kendall Connections
March 2021
IMPROVED KENDALL CONNECTIONS!
As you have already noticed, we have switched platforms for our Kendall Connections newsletter! We are excited about this transition to the Smore platform, one that is used by many neighboring districts.
In coming editions of Kendall Connections, there will be a few accessibility options for families including: translated text, increased font size, and formatted viewing on mobile devices. We are confident that with these adjustments the communication from school can support all of our families equitably.
We're pretty excited about this change. We hope you are too!
Best,
Mr. Perigo

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
If you have a child turning 5 on or before August 31, 2021, it’s not too early to start thinking about Kindergarten registration for the 2021-22 school year. Please call the Kendall office at (360)383-2055 so we can get your child on our registration list. More information about Kindergarten will be coming to families later this month. If you have family or friends in the area with kindergarteners to register, please encourage them to call and get their names on our list also.
MORNING DROP-OFF
EXTRA MASK
There are times when a student's mask needs to be changed during the day. Please send an extra mask for your student to keep in their backpack in case it is needed.
PANDEMIC EBT
PANDEMIC EBT (P-EBT2.0) IS BACK!
WHAT IS P-EBT?
P-EBT is a benefit from the USDA that pays eligible families for meals their students missed due to school closures from the COVID Pandemic, even if we already served them meals.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
If your student was eligible for Free or Reduced-price meals this school year, or enrolled at Kendall Elementary School, you are eligible for this benefit.
HOW DO I GET THIS BENEFIT?
You do NOT need to apply for P-EBT2.0. Benefits will come as an EBT card and will be sent via US mail. It is crucial that your mailing address is up to date in our school records!
Please contact your school secretary if you need to update your mailing address.

PTA OFFICERS NEEDED
In order for the kids to have any PTA hosted events, we must have a board. We are still in need of a President and Vice President. If you or anyone you know is willing to give it a try to ensure the kids still get to partake in events like jog a thon, engineering night, spirit week, field trips, spirit wear, 6th grade party, and much more, please contact the board via Facebook, or email kendallpta2015@gmail.com. All positions can be held as co-positions, so if you want to share duties with a friend that is ok too! Please help us keep our PTA going. Thank you!
Parent/Caregiver Support Resources
Are you a parent or caregiver? How are you doing? Would you like some support or how about just a visit? Would it feel good to have a person connected to resources stop by to learn more about you and your family's needs? A group of community organizations are working together to understand more about how we can support you in doing all the good we know you already do as a caring parent.
Who are we? We are folks with Common Threads who are part of the work done usually at your local school. This new project is just getting rolling, but we know this newsletter only comes around once awhile, so if you'd like to learn more, please fill out your contact information here or call to speak with the EWRRC staff at 360-599- 3944. Preliminary interest survey for East County residents.
