What is Cyber Bullying ?
Cyber bullying is a use of technology to harass, embarrass, threaten someone else. For example, rumors posted on social networking sites, and embarrassing pictures, websites, videos or fake profiles, rude text emails or messages.
Laws in Canada/Ontario
Canada
- It is illegal to share intimate images of a person without a consent of the person in the image
- Have to teach students about the importants of bullying and the consequences
Penalties in Canada/Ontario
- Imprisoned for five years or up
- Their computer, cell phone or other device used to share the image can be taken away
- They have to take down the photo/video/account
- Could be charged
