Moving towards excellence and moving the salt shaker!
Hello Team!
Over the past two weeks, all of us have completed our goal-setting meetings. The purpose of these meetings is to make sure that we all have a clear vision of what we are working towards each and every day. In addition, we also had goal-setting talks with students. Again, these talks allowed students to have a space to reflect on their own performance and decide on their own goals. Clear Goals is not just something we say. We want to make sure that what we are working towards is continuously at the forefront of our minds. Over this next week, reflect on your goals and on your actions. Think about how you are continuously moving towards reaching those goals with every action that you take. Ask yourself, how am I resetting the salt shaker and bringing my best self to this work each and every day? As always, grateful to work alongside you! Make sure to complete the action steps below!
Clear Goals, Full Hearts, All In! JAR!

Congrats Jen on winning Teacher of the Month for September!
Here is why Jen won our Teacher of the Month!
I would like to nominate Ms. Canales for teacher of the month. These first four weeks of the school year have proven to be challenging, yet satisfying ones. Ms. Canales has demonstrated all of the RIGHT values during this time frame. Her passion to teach our students and the hard work she puts in everyday show through her actions in class. As a fellow teammate, she provides joy, reassurance, and inspiration for all of us on the 6th grade team. Overall, her attitude and personality are contagious. Here are some quick steps:
1) Go to this site: https://www.donorschoose.org/teachers
2) Use your personal email and select Compass Rose Academy with the Outer Circle address.
3) Begin writing up your project.
Our budget is very tight and we have minimal funds around the following items:
a. Classroom libraries – this would consist of a bank of independent reading books for students that they could read or check out in your classroom.
b. Professional Development – these would consist of, now mostly online, opportunities for you to engage in content relevant to you.
c. Field Trips – a typical bus for a day costs from $1,000 - $1,500. Buses will also have spaced out seating so that means we need twice as many buses per field trip now. These may be limited now, in our situation.
d. Other classroom supplies tied to projects or resources that you may want for your classroom.
4) Once you have set up your account and posted a need, please let both Brittany and Monica know that you set up an account.
