Message from Principal Cullinane

Dear Nashoba Students and Families –

The weeks in November go by quickly! I want to remind you that Quarter 2 begins on Monday—stay in touch with your teachers and start off strong! Also, a reminder that we won't see you this Wednesday, 11.11, in observance of Veteran's Day.

Have a great weekend! Enjoy the beautiful weather!

Meet, Greet, and Connect Events for Students

Thank you to the Freshman students who attended Meet, Greet, and Connect on Wednesday! We had a great turnout for what was an awesome day on campus!

Thank you again to all the students that signed up and participated in the Meet, Greet, and Connect Events on-campus the past three weeks! We were so excited to have students back on campus and engaging with their peers.

Keep an eye out for future events!

In-School Bio Lab Field Trip Opportunity for Sophomores!

On Wednesday, November 18th, the Sophomore class will have an opportunity to join us on campus for an in-person Biology lab and a secondary enrichment opportunity! Sophomores will be able to sign up for either a morning session or an afternoon session on that Wednesday. For ease of instruction and learning, Sophomore classes will ALL be asynchronous during that day to avoid missing live instruction. The model used will be a pilot for all students to have an opportunity for in-person labs and instruction. Keep an eye out for more information and a Google Form to sign-up soon!

School Pictures November 19 & 20

We have developed a plan to have all students (with the exception of seniors) have their 2020-2021 School Pictures taken. This will allow students not to miss any instructional time and provide students the opportunity to get their school pictures taken by appointment. It is important that every member of the NRHS community get an updated picture taken for their school ID as well as our school information system, PowerSchool. These photos will also be used for the 2020-2021 Yearbook.

If you have not done so already, please use the link below to sign students up for an appointment on either Thursday, November 19th or Friday, November 20th from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

When signing up for an appointment, please choose either Lower Gym or Auditorium Foyer. There are 10 openings every 15 minutes for each location. If the time you are looking for is not available in one location, please go back and try the other.

We have protocols in place to ensure students can safely have their pictures taken. We expect it will take approximately 10 minutes or less. Our school photography provider, Lifetouch, has set up a system that is completely touch-free.

When students arrive, they will enter either at the Gym door or the Auditorium door, depending on which location was chosen while making the appointment, and then proceed to the check-in desk. Students will then be directed to a photographer.

Students will be required to wear their facemask or face covering the entire time and will only remove their facemask when told to by the photographer to take their picture. They will need to put their facemask back on immediately after their picture is taken.

Information about ordering prints or digital images can be found by following this link to Lifetouch.

Student Elections

Elections for student council positions, class officer positions, and the student representative to the school committee will be held the second week of November for members of the sophomore, junior, and senior classes. Elections for freshman class officers will take place in February. Students should watch for information from their class advisors detailing the expectations that accompany leadership positions at Nashoba.

The position of Student Representative to the School Committee is an elected position, and that student will serve as a liaison between the Nashoba student body and the school committee. The student must be in good academic standing, be prepared to attend every school committee meeting consistently, and be prepared to speak publicly about events happening at Nashoba. Please email Mrs. Bailey at if you have any questions or are interested in running for this position.

From the Nurse's Office

Hello Nashoba families and students!

I hope you and your family are all well. This weekend's weather looks beautiful for some outdoor activities!

However, with winter closely approaching and the flu season upon us, this is a reminder about the Massachusetts state mandate for the influenza vaccination. The vaccine is required by December 31, 2020 and includes remote as well as in-person students. When your child receives this vaccine, please forward a copy to the health office. Thank you to all who have already done so. For more information about this requirement and the flu, you may visit the attached links Flu vaccine now required and Flu facts.

In addition to winter, the holidays are right around the corner. While these are usually a joyful time for many, the holidays can be stressful and burdensome for those experiencing financial difficulty. If you or someone you know in our Nashoba school community would benefit from assistance this upcoming holiday season, please email or call me at your earliest convenience. All inquiries and referrals are confidential.

Please see attached link for resources as well.

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns,

Virtual Activities Fair

Our Virtual Activities Fair premiered the afternoon of Wednesday, 11.4. If you weren't able to join, check out this slideshow for Nashoba clubs and activities!

A note from the Athletic Director…

As we head into the final week of our fall season, I want to thank all of our student-athletes and coaches for following our new protocols to ensure a safe and healthy season for everyone involved. Our goal since day one of the season was to give our students an opportunity to play and complete the fall season with a focus on the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, officials, and all families. We are one week away of doing this and I am so proud of our teams!

Although it is the last week of fall, I want to make sure we all stay focused. Please continue to follow the guidelines listed below to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved.

  • Follow the Spectator Policy - Only attending HOME events with your spectator pass/lanyard visible at all times
  • Wear a mask at all times
  • Practice social distancing
  • Wash your hands/using hand sanitizer

Winter Update:
The Central Mass District Athletic Committees have pushed the start of the winter season to Monday, December 14th. This would be the earliest date schools would begin tryouts/practices. December 14th is subject to being moved to a later date based on the guidelines we receive from the state.

At this time, we are still waiting for guidance from the EEA, MIAA Sport Committees, the COVID-19 Task Force, and the MIAA Board of Directors. I will open winter sports registration and share information with all families as soon as it becomes available.

Facility Reminder:
The facilities (track and athletic fields) are closed to the public, while high school events (practices or competitions) are being held. Also, there are no pets allowed on campus per our NRSD policy.

From the Nutrition Department

Hello Families,

The Nutrition Team would like to send you an update on our Grab and Go meal pickup.

WE HAVE MOVED (a little)

We are now handing out lunches out of the auditorium doors at the High School. Families will still drive in on the right side of the school, but will now loop around, rather than driving behind the school. New signs will be in place to direct you.

We will still be serving Monday, Wednesday and Fridays 11:30-1 and 2:30-4 pm. Your children don't need to be with you, and we still do not require any identifying information to pick up meals.

Follow us on Twitter @NRSD_Nutrition for any updates!

As a reminder, we now have a Grab and Go menu posted on our website here.

We hope to see you today in the snow, please drive safely and have a fun & safe Halloween!
