Increase in Security
If you need to check in a student after 8:00a.m., please make sure you walk your student into the office to sign them in. We have had several parents parking in front of the building in the fire lane to do this. Please don't! I know parking space is limited, but when you do this it is a safety issue and you are also blocking our late buses.
We will continue to add new safety measures over the coming months. Safety for our staff and kids is our first priority and we thank you for helping us keep Westside the Bestside.
Teacher With Heart Award
Cabot Classroom Teachers’ Association (CTA) has once again teamed up with the Cabot Panther Foundation and Centennial Bank in Cabot to honor our district’s most outstanding educators.
The CTA is recognizing the great work of some of our best and brightest teachers with the annual “Cabot CTA Teachers with Heart Award.”
Parents, colleagues, principals, students, and members of the public can nominate Cabot teachers for this award. The deadline to nominate a teacher has been extended until March 15th.
Eighteen teachers will be selected as finalists for the “Cabot CTA Teachers with Heart Award.”
All finalists will be recognized at the end of the year district meeting in May and three outstanding teachers will be presented with the “Cabot CTA Teachers with Heart Award” and $250 cash.
Nominations may be made until March 15th by filling out the online nomination form. It can also be found on CTA’s facebook page @CTAandfriends.
One Book One School
Not just that.... if more girls turn in the most reading logs Mrs. Atherton will have lemonade poured over her head. If the boys turn in the most reading logs, Mrs. Jennings will have lemonade poured over her head.
The purpose of our reading together is to encourage dialog
about literature between adults and children. Parents should continue reading books with children even after they are able to read by themselves. The book that has been selected can be easily enjoyed and followed by younger students, but will still captivate and stimulate older readers.
So how do I get started? It’s easy! Simply read the designated chapter aloud each evening and discuss what you have read with your child. This will stimulate quality conversations and motivate students to become active listeners and readers.
