Principal's Message
Dear SFX Family,
We are still in awe of the generosity shown to St. Francis Xavier Catholic School during iGiveCatholic Day on November 30, 2021! We raised $13,315 toward our Annual Fund! Thank you for your support.
It was a wonderful weekend at SFX! Thank you to the Old Metairie Christmas Market Committee for an AMAZING event. I also want to thank the 4th Grade students, parents, and teachers for a beautifully sponsored parish Mass. Lastly, thank you to the Men's Club for the new lights on the oak trees in front of the church. It is such a beautiful sight!
Tomorrow we will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with a school Mass. Our 3rd-7th Grade students will receive the sacrament of Reconciliation on Thursday. Don't forget that Old Metairie Fest T-shirt Orders are due Friday! The 5th-7th Grade students will be participating in Eucharistic Adoration Friday afternoon and are invited to stay for a Christmas Party. More details are below.
All are invited to the Blessing and Wrapping of Baby Jesus Statues at the 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM Masses this Sunday. More details are below.
Congratulations to our Boys' Basketball Team on a great start! They are 2-0 with their next game on Friday. We are still in need of a Girls' Basketball Assistant Coach. If you are interested, please contact Coach Kevin.
I hope you have a great rest of the week!
May God bless you and keep you,
Jessica

Read to the Final Four Challenge
The NCAA Men’s Final Four will be back in New Orleans in April 2022 and with that comes the reading challenge, Read to the Final Four. The NCAA and New Orleans Local Organizing Committee have teamed up to inspire and incentivize second and third graders in the Greater New Orleans Area to Read to the Final Four to help increase the literacy rates of our students. Schools and students will have the opportunity to win prizes with the top four schools winning a field trip to NCAA events.
2nd and 3rd Grade Parents: Don't forget to submit your child's number of minutes read by Friday afternoon each week. You can do so here.
Congratulations to 3T for having the highest average of minutes read last week! Last week's individual homeroom winners were Harlan (2B), Mila (2H), Phoenix (3S), and Kate (3T).
