Dear Framingham Families,
Several weeks ago, Framingham Public School announced the removal of summer program tuition fees in recognition of the great struggles that many families have gone through this year due to COVID-19 and it’s related effects,. This is made possible with funding from the American Rescue Plan which is an emergency legislative package that provides funding for K-12 public education to support efforts to reopen schools safely and equitably expand opportunity for students who need it most.
We are excited to release a listing of summer programs, facilitated by the Department of Community Resource Development.
We encourage you to take some time this weekend to think about what programs might work for your family. Next week you will begin to receive emails based on your child’s grade level and program eligibility with more information and details on how to register.
Many programs this year are referral based. In the listing online, when you see “referral”, it indicates that your school’s student support team, staff, and leadership will be nominating students to attend that program.
For some programs focusing on enrichment we will be running a lottery. For those programs you will receive an email with the lottery registration next week. The lottery will be open from May 3rd until May 16th. Families who have made it through the lottery will be contacted during the week of May 17th.
If you have any questions, or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
