SCHOOL START TIME COMMUNITY FORUMS
As many know, there is a National movement toward restructuring school start times to allow middle and high school students to start school later. The District explored switching to a start time more in line with National research and changing the start order in 2018 but did not act on a change. The District has re-engaged the issue and is exploring stakeholder opinion given the current student wellness impacts of the Pandemic.
The following are opportunities for participation in community forums regarding the school start times issue:
- Tuesday, March 21, 6:00pm at Bettye Davis East HS Community Forum
- Wednesday, March 22, 6:00pm at South HS Community Forum
- Friday, March 24, 6:00pm at Mirror Lake MS Community Forum
All the above forums are in-person. For anyone unable to participate in the in-person opportunities, a survey will be made available for general input.
