ATTENTION: ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND PARENTS!
In Michigan, all students are required to have a completed EDP when they enter high school. EDPs must be started during the 7th grade year and must be completed during the 8th grade year, but is continuously updated through the student’s high school years.
Creating an EDP gives students a chance to plan for the future while in school.
• Career Opportunities: Students gain awareness of projected jobs in Michigan as part
of the EDP process. Pure Michigan Talent Connect, Career Explorer is a good resource for
high school students who are preparing for a job search.
• Parent Consultation/Endorsement: Parents should have the option of reviewing and
agreeing with their child’s EDP. Reviewing the EDP can help parents be knowledgeable
about careers and jobs their child is interested in pursuing.
Lets Get Started on Your EDP (Education Development Plan) on Xello! Plan YOUR future TODAY!! This is also posted on your Schoology Class Group in Resources!!!
